Always thought it was a grade below DirecTV, just cause I don't know one person who has Dish. But may have to switch.

Is it doable??

I would recommend U-Verse if that's an option for you

Yea, it is superior.

Just an FYI, if extreme rain or heavy eletromatjc interference occurs such as thunderstorms ... it affects all TV satellite technology equally.

But you never lose signal in sun, like DirecTV. Very few complaints really. Nothing is perfect though.

Yeah, that's a lie.

we made the switch about 4 years ago and haven't looked back
1. better price
2. better service contractors (of course that is a local issue)
3. better customer service
4. We actually get better service with Dish than DicTV but I think that has to do with installer recommending having the dish on a pole and not roof mounted.

Well, I have had Dish for over a year, and don't ever remember losing signal in clear weather, like happened with DirecT sometimes fairly often.

Sounds you like you had a bad satellite or it was set up incorrectly.

I've lost signal with DirecTV four times in the last six years. Each time during torrential downpours with thunder and lightning. Only once was the signal loss during a really bad time and it was more so for the wife as it was an episode of Downton Abbey.

Funny was on Direct TV for 10 years and over the last 5 years or so, loss of signal has really fallen off and only happens in heavy heavy rain. Never in 10 years did I just lose signal in sunlight??? Switched to U-verse a couple of weeks ago, saved about $100 a month with net/TV combined.

Maybe I had a raw deal or something. It was funny. Would lose signal in sunlight, but only briefly lost signal during Isaac(yes, was lucky, didn't lose power. Knocking on wood now.)
Doesn't matter. Happy with Dish. Know I will have the SEC network, and pay less than DirecT. This is only me I am speaking of. I was happy with DirecT too, but switched for CST.

DirectTV will be in the food shortly. If you have held out this long, is because you are either lazy, or not irrational to what drives the tv companies. Demand.

It is currently there and will continue so and as soon as the partnership is announced, I will be laughing with all my HD glory while the others switched prematurely to a substandard service.

U verse is the shite until you run out of promos. Switched to Dish and will continue until I can lock in the good price for Uverse again.

Just got Dish the other day. So far I've been happy with it. Even during the thunderstorm we had it ran without issue.
