If your coach said this what would you think of him?

After throwing a pick 6 with a few minutes left in the game that cost the team the win:

"That play was not in the playbook. I have no idea where he got the idea to throw that pass. It sure wasnt from the coaches"

So, what would you think of your coach?

He is able to laugh about an unfortunate mistake by his QB

You've given no context, nor have you given any historical background on said coach to know if this is typical or atypical of him.

No problem with it. I'd be pissed if my HC did have that play in the playbook.

I have a feeling that quote is not verbatim. Amirite?

If you wish for us to comment, make it verbatim and put it in its proper context.

I may be crazy but I don't think any offensive playbook has the "qb throw a pick 6 on 2" in their playbook.

So I have no problem with the coach's comments.

Can't think of a time when Spurrier said anything like that.

Spurrier did make a comment defending Connor Shaw with regard to two interceptions he threw in the 4th qtr of the game at Auburn a few years ago.

The first interception on Shaw's first play of the game after coming in to replace Garcia was across the middle and Spurrier late said he shouldn't have called that play ... the LB was waiting on it and Spurrier took full fault.

The second one was to Alshon Jeffery in the upper right corner of the endzone and was delivered perfectly, but the Auburn DB poked it from his hands from behind him and the ball fell into the hands of another Auburn DB laying on the ground ... freak play. Auburn was very lucky that game.

So I don't think Spurrier said it as that is the only game I can think of that might fit the imaginary scenario the OP is using.

Sounds like Spurier, but given that an LSU fans started thread AND used word " cupcakes" to describe schedule I'm thinking it might be Saban. Doesn't sound like him tho.
