Completely depends on who's in office.

One's an ideology, one's a party. Not comparable.

Based on the State party conventions, Dems smoke more pot, Republicans use more coke and really like hookers. I've been involved in both parties conventions.

It sucks being conservative, having to constantly explain to the little progressive children to things cost money and material goods and services are NOT a human right.

But it's nice living with integrity.

Both have fun, but the liberal feels better at the end of the day because someone else paid for it.

I don't think the question was limited to politics.

My experience has been that liberals walk around in a constant state of butthurt. Sound like a shitty way to go through life.

It's fun being either, you're living inside a game if you're a D or R. It's easy and fun to play 'smash the mole', it's a very mindless exercise.

Being above the manufactured political game is where the fun n games stop.

Here's what I want. I want the freedom to live my life, earn my living and pay my bills, save for retirement, go the church i want to go to, love whom I want and be safe from those would harm me and mine. I respect others rights to the same. What I do not want is a fricking government that takes from me beyond what is my fair share or dictate to me how I will do any of these things. I also believe in taking care of our planet, as we borrow it from our kids.

Any party that fricks with my ability to do this, I am going to vigorously oppose. I am a fan of SMALL government. But I vote for the best candidate regardless of party.

Do a google search on democratic mayors. You will find quite a posse that enjoy that. Start with Marion Barry in DC.

More fun being an independent. We have no real leaders but we control a lot of big elections.

Liberals, at least in the classical sense, are supportive of republican ideals. If you mean current US politics, there is almost no discernible difference between Democratic "liberals" and Republican "conservatives". Both parties are inherently statist and perpetuate the establishment position on American empire, militarism, the national security state, slavish devotion to Israel and the war on drugs. The American people unfortunately are too stupid or too engaged in their reality tv coma to understand that the political tribalism of America's two party system is simply a ruse.
