Hate to hear the guys career will end this way. Was a stud player and was always a fan. He's smart to walk away instead of putting himself at continued risk.

Damn was just reading the thread on the Saints board about him

Damn that sucks. Sorry to hear that.
Great player.

Why play when you can get paid under the concussion settlement?

Smart move on his part. Don't blame him a bit. Who wants to earn a few million extra only to spend it on in-home nursing care in your late 50's?

He was pretty beat-up. He's had a few surgeries, and then the two bad concussions in a row.
It was time.
Word is that he has invested very well and is set for life.
Sidney is a smart guy.

Happy to hear this. I hate it when guys hang around too long when they have a history of concussions.

He clearly is smart by walking away. You invest wisely and that kind of money will help you live well.

He made over 21 million on his 2nd contract. Add in his rookie deal and he could easily be set for life if he doesn't VY it.

Supposedly he's going to stick around the Seattle area, and has invested in some WingStop franchises around Puget Sound.
Not that restaurants can't fail, but it should be a safer investment than, say, spinners.

If you have enough so that you're money is spread out over several stores, franchised chain restaurants can be a really solid way to invest a lot of money.

According John Clayton, he wasn't going to make the Seahawks team

Not terribly surprising. He didn't live up to the contract that Seattle gave him due to injuries and being a poor fit for the offense. When the Ghost of Brett Favre was his QB, Rice made the Pro Bowl. Regardless, glad to see he's cashing out and taking care of himself.
