Seems like a great guy from everything I've read and heard from those who know him, and I feel like he's getting the short end of the stick at UT. He's dealing with an underwhelmed fan base, a notoriously meddlesome collection of big donors and alumni, and following a politician like Mack Brown (something Strong, by all acounts, is not).

They were talking on the radio yesterday about how he's getting roasted in the Texas media for essentially saying that Texas wasn't a National Championship caliber team this year, which while a totally legitimate observation, never sits well with that fan base.

Nah I never lived south of the river. Quail Valley, Eagle Mountain, and whatever that neighborhood east of Lyon is called. I forgot.

I don't have any problems with Strong personally but one of the most satisfying moments in the entirety of my football fandom was the look on his face when Blake Bortles threw the game winning TD against Louisville.

ETA: Actually I do have a problem with Charlie Strong. After that game he said in his presser that "the better team lost". frick Charlie Strong. UCF was undefeated from there on out and embarrassed the B12 champs in the Fiesta Bowl. Louisville was not better than UCF and there's no class in saying the "better team lost"

I may live south of the river now, but I grew up in downtown Batesville. I am all about the pioneers!
