Recruits were also asked about the head coaches they've interacted with. Alabama coach Nick Saban was mentioned more than any other as the most intimidating. One respondent said he "almost couldn't walk into Saban's office" because he was so nervous. Ohio State's Urban Meyer was second, followed by Texas coach Charlie Strong, Florida State's Jimbo Fisher and Michigan State's Mark Dantonio.

On the other hand, Penn State coach James Franklin was by far the most mentioned coach when recruits were asked which coach was the most convincing. A number of recruits also mentioned Florida coach Will Muschamp, Clemson's Dabo Swinney, Stanford's David Shaw, Auburn's Gus Malzahn and Ole Miss' Hugh Freeze.

Saban really can't ever complain about the media. They have done him quite well, especially in building his recruiting reputation.

These kids will soon learn to run away from any salesman that is wholly "convincing". That is your first clue.

I like the poll questions they asked in that article.

Might have well just asked, "Would you like to win the lottery?" Yes/No

If I knew I couldn't cut it in a championship program like Bama, I would piss my pants if I had to talk to CNS and know I didn't have a shot at a scolly, and was just wasting His time.

And I would be at ease with Gus knowing he will take any scrub he can get.

Why would anyone be intimidated by a guy who could have his arse beaten by his own daughter?

surprised to see Muschamp where he is. He seems like he would be a pretty intense guy to be around for a high school kid

Yet somehow Saban keeps on signing higher ranked classes.
