What a weird year. Alabama technically won it but was on probation. Auburn, LSU and Arkansas then basically tripped each other up for 2nd place and the division ended in a three way tie. All three teams were awarded SEC West "Co-Champs" and Arkansas was sent to the Championship game. What a weird freaking year. I know Auburn finished ranked #14 that year despite a 9-4 record.

Haha. I remember when the SEC West "wasn't" the best division in college football.

We had so much talent on that years team. Weird b/c I'm actually watching the Music City Bowl from that year on the Big Tne network right now.

We lost to Minnesota in that game. Houston Nutt

And Miss State still went 0-8 in conference that year. The stars lined up that year for either of the Mississippi schools to win the West and they still couldn't make it.

Which just goes to show you how much better of a program Alabama is than LSU. At LSU, when Saban had a bad game, he'd get blown the eff out. At Alabama, when Saban has a bad game, he loses on a fluke return for a touchdown.

Was that the year that Arkie and Ole Miss went 7 overtimes. Best college football game I have ever seen.

I think so. And Bama and Georgia were the only teams without at least 4 losses overall that year (out of SEC teams). Only 3 SEC teams ended up in the Top 25 that year.

Yup but Georgia was good. They finished 13-1 and ranked #3 in the nation that year.

If we had taken care of business in Jacksonville we probably would have played Miami for the national title

Or we would be like 2004 Auburn

Either way OSU had a horseshoe up their arse that season
