Because if you do, it means FSU had the best 2 players in the country last season. But yet and still Coker couldn't get any PT.

And it means Coker was better than Manziel, McCarron, Marshall, Mettenberger, Murray, Marriot'a, Hundley, Braxton Miller, Bortles, Bridgewater, Bryce Petty, and everyone else. Just don't buy it.

I remember our coaches saying it was a down to the wire race between this guy...

And this guy...

Thoughts?

If you google Jake Coke + SEC rant, you'll see that the fanbases that are fabricating the "hype" include several culprits. The bama fanbase isn't one of them.

We are optimistic, yes. We are not starting threads about his greatness every week though. Y'all want it so badly, but we refuse to give it to you.

And I thought you started a pitiful thread a while back stating you were leaving because of racism or some shite? You should have followed through with that plan.

Listen! This is the last time i'm saying this, Saban doesn't need an elite qb. All we need from Coker is to not throw picks and take care of the ball. Saban's teams only require a "game manager". The defense and running game will do the rest. 150-200 through the air and maybe a touchdown will do just fine. A real Bama fans understands this and is not over hyping

We are optimistic. We don't expect a Heisman from him, if that's what you're asking. We expect him to perform at a high level, take care of the football, and lead us to the playoffs.

Rise this past week you posted this.

Now keep in mind those last two first year starters spent over two years each developing chemistry with the OL, RB, and WR while studying under Saban's offense. Coker has 4 months

Jimbo Fisher does.

quote:

"Including what they've had, he's much more talented than anything they've had," he told TideSports.com. "I don't mean to discredit the previous guys, they were all great. But this guy is extremely talented. Arm and mind. He's a backup because he's behind the best quarterback in America. (Coker) may have been one of the top three or four quarterbacks in America physically."

Greg McElroy is still a Bama fan, no?

Yea, I expect Coker to perform at a high level. He doesn't have the time in the system that McElroy and Mccarron had, but he's got more talent. At some point you have to implicate a sliding scale when predicting the success of the future. Bama fans are expecting Coker to lead us to the playoffs. If that's "extreme hype" then so be it. It has as much to do with the talent around him as it does with the talent he possesses.

We're not expecting him to be Cam or Manziel, which is the impression many here seem to be getting by our optimism.

Based on what exactly?

Hint: you're overhyping right there. You have zero info available to say he's got more talent.

Travis Haney does...

In fact, based on what I hear about his arm strength and knowing the skill around him, it is not that bold of a prediction that this could be his first and only season with the Tide before bolting for the NFL.

That's a testament to his physical talent from Fisher. Talent isn't really a debatable metric. You're confusing that with hype.
