I always assumed it would be at the Dome, which sucks. I always have a hard time visualizing a football field in a baseball stadium, but I'm sure it would work. Worked for soccer. Assuming so, Busch would be awesome compared to the Dome.

Sounds like Cards have said ok. MLB has agreed to NOT schedule the Cards at home for that weekend. Alden suggested it, so Mizzou is ok with it. Sounds like it's just a matter of the Sports Commission working out the $$$ with Arky State.

Viverito is pretty grounded. Sounds like he's been working with KC as well to rotate years with Mizzou playing in KC one year and STL the next year. That only takes one otherwise home game out of COMO.

That does look stupid and the seats seem like they'd be so far away.

Like you said though, would go.

Thats a game were I'm drinking my Anheuser products and taking it all in, assuming Stec isn't trying to defend the option, not much can go wrong.

That looks like a horrible CFB environment.

Maybe if they had some portable bleachers to move closer to the sidelines.

Didn't this team the hell out of the field during the stretch run for the Cardinals?

I don't like this for either of my teams.

That article talks about that a bit. Cards would obviously prefer it be after the season but are willing to do their part.

There are maybe 6 home games a year.

CFB teams are investing mega bucks into their stadiums.

Universities are spending millions on the aesthetics of their campus's.

We only have a handful of home games to enjoy, this is dumb.

They talk about that too ST. Say they understand, Mizzou wants to keep the number of home games at 7 at a minimum. 4 conference home games, 4 OOC games. Taking one of those games (most likely an OOC game) and moving it to STL or KC wouldn't be horrible. That is why they are talking about KC and STL alternating years.

I hope this is more about STL wanting it to happen rather than Mizzou putting it out there as a possibility. It's a dumb idea and the AD shouldn't even consider it. The dome or Arrowhead is fine.

A game played at Busch will be bush league, (pun intended). Would UGA ever consider playing a game at Turner Field? How about aTm at Minute Maid? Hell no, of course they wouldn't. This is just a dumb idea, and I hope it dies on the vine.

The only thing worse would be playing a game at SMS.

According to the article, Alden floated the idea of ASU. I don't know that he floated the idea of at Busch.

STL has been in constant communication about many things. Bragging Rights game. Baseball team playing Illinois at Busch. Softball playing in St. Louis. And, yes, trying to get a football game in St. Louis. They talked about how they understand all the challenges and how Mizzou wants to maintain a certain number of games in COMO. So, during those discussions, and because there really are no feasible options, apparently Alden floated the idea of ASU since that game was not going to be played in COMO anyways. I don't think it's a big deal. Alden probably says no, not going to move a conference game. No, Illinois is not going to work. But, you know, if you really want a Mizzou game, we are supposed to be playing in Jonesboro next year. Maybe if you talk to them you could get that game moved to STL. After all, we'd rather play in STL than Jonesboro.

What I doubt is that during that conversation, Alden said, "And can we play it at Busch instead of the Dome?"

Ok, now I follow.

I hope that's how the conversation went.

I would agree except this would replace our road game at Arkansas State in 2015, so I am for it.

For ASU I would agree as it is a road game but to permanently host a home game every year in KC/STL would be a mistake, I am sure that is what Tiger was saying, and I agree with him. Live in Arkansas and it is a huge problem for the Hogs going to Little Rock every year why would we want to emulate that?

This is the way i understand it...

Its ASU's home game so they have most the control in this
The choices seem to be in jonesboro
In little rock
In st louis at busch, they arent interested in the dome
Mizzou has veto power in way of buyout but
That option is getting weaker by the day becuase the alt game options are very very limited to almost non existent

Assuming 4 away conference games. Of the other 8, personally I wouldn't mind if 7 were in COMO and 1 rotated between KC and STL. The problem comes in in years where you have to go TO Purdue for example. In those years, there should be no game in KC or STL in order to maintain the 7 home games.

Why not take a game that is going to have 10,000 to 30,000 empty seats in COMO and move it to KC or STL? Don't see the big deal with it.

Not sure how that happened but either way it's an acceptable solution.

As mentioned the alternative is a buyout and replacement game scheduling or play it in Arky. Neither is more desirable than a game in STL.

I agree it's nice to have a game in STL or KC but not at the expense of a home game. Finding small teams from around the edge of the state that would agree to play a game in COMO and their game in STL/KC seems like a really smart move to me. Hell it might even be worth the price of the buyout to play them like that, that way we get our standard home games plus for all intents an extra "home game" in KC/STL. This is something I would like to see Alden pursue.

No doubt Slive's office would like to see an extra SEC team game in those big markets as well. If the EJ dome goes away fine, would frankly rather play in Arrowhead and Busch anyway, given the teams being played it should be more of an exhibition atmosphere anyway.

This problem disappears when we go to 9 conference games.
