Not sure bitter but putting his spin on NS comments from Sat. He is definitely dripping with sarcasm though

First of all PF is an idiot and the fact that he has is on show on the SEC network is just another reason I could care less if it ever comes to my area. He is just trying to sell his book and he walks around and spews his assumptions as if there facts. He is basically the Jerry Springer of CFB.

And Saban has never jumped to greener pastures for money as the writer eluded to. He has chased his goals by moving up the ladder when the opportunity has been given. I guess every HC dreams of being a HC at Toledo for their career. MSU was an upgrade and LSU was most definitely an upgrade. If not for his desire to coach the NFL we would be hating him at LSU right now. The NFL was not his forte and he came back and UA was open.

He will retire at UA.

Upvote for you. Finebaum is terrible and I think the day he's gone from college football is a day that should be celebrated. He can't speak intelligently about anything that goes on the field, so he stirs the pot on off the field stuff. Like you, that's why I not exactly giddy about the SEC Network because I know it'll basically be Finebaum 24/7.

And yes, Saban gets way too much criticism for just moving up the coaching ranks. Its not like he's been Urban Meyer or Bob Petrino.

I agree the reporter was a bit bitter, but speaking on the SEC network is anyone here honestly that excited about it? Other than maybe the USCe/aTm game, they'll never show any of the good games, and I don't want to pay money to see things like Georgia play Ole Miss in women's basketball. That, along with the Finebaum show, and constant reruns of "Roll Tide War Eagle", "Ghost of Ole Miss" and "The Book of Manning".

Yeah, other than the occasional football game, it doesn't exactly blow my skirt up. I'm sure they'll be a few programs here and there but other than that, your post is dead on. We'll see Roll Tide War Eagle 1000 times between now and Christmas.

Having Finebaum, Barnhart, etc. does nothing for me.

They are going to have good games. Sure, they aren't going to have a game like LSU/Bama, but ESPN can put any of their games on that network and they will be putting some of their top tier games there in order to justify what they are charging TV carriers to carry the channel.

This isn't the Longhorn Network.

Define top tier. If they put something like the TSIO I wouldn't really care that much (I'd be at the game anyway). But if the put the Iron Bowl, or DSOR, or the WLOCP I'd be pretty mad. I'm sure those fanbases who aren't in the area, or don't have the "correct" provider will be pretty mad too.

Probably something more along the lines of Bama vs Miss St or Miss st verse arky. etc. I watch a lot more football than just Bama and sometimes want to see those games because they have players I like watching or a fantasy football player I drafted, etc. Sometimes they are just great games. I enjoy college football.

I am interested to see what they do to kinda separate the SEC Network from the current College GameDay, College ScoreBoard, as well as those ESPNU programs.

It certainly has the potential and the brand talent to be extremely successful. The other Conference networks have been disappointing to say the least, so I am thinking ESPN and the SEC will use this new platform to really stick out their chests. I am excited.

Heck as much time as I spend on message boards, it's going to be nice to get some truly dedicated SEC coverage on TV.

Travelled from Texas to cover and write about the football coach at Alabama. He fits perfectly into the assessment made in his own article.
