CFM in his presser yesterday said that Shamiek Sheppard may actually play this season and maybe good to go as soon as SEC play begins. Says he's a good month ahead of schedule with his knee. If. Everything goes the way it should they will have to make the choice of burning the redshirt in order for him to help during SEC play or not.

Gamecocks are on their way to routing UNC A&T tonight: they take a 47-16 lead into the halftime break.
The bigger news: Sheppard checked into the game at the 1:23 minute mark. He's wearing a Dan Marino-sized brace on his knee, but he's now active this season...

A&T won the MEAC last year and made the NCAA Tournament....but then they're 2-12 this year, so it looks like they MAY not be the same team.

This can be a huge benchmark victory for the Frank Martin Era - wins on the road like this one can make a world of difference on the recruiting trail, and in the confidence of the team for the rest of the season.
And with the SEC struggling as much as it is, this could be a great opportunity for USC. Further, to think that next year's team will be even better, with the additions of talent to the roster....

Yeah. Silva + Dozier coming in and only losing Ty. Team could be scary good with how many minutes & experienced Stroman is becoming & how talented Dozier will be.
Plus another big & athletic guy on the inside & we get a healthy Blanton. Man oh man, good times are coming for Carolina Basketball under Frank.

We'll see. We definitely over-performed in the OOC but I'm still cautious. UF has been reeling but still have lots of talent, we have to play UK twice, the SEC as a whole is better.

#1 nationally ranked Women's team routed LSU 75-51 today to improve to 14-0 on the season, and 2-0 in the SEC. The 14 consecutive wins mark a new longest win streak for the program.

When is the last time we were ranked? I know we got in there under Odom. Was it only during the tournament year or did we sneak in there at other times under him?
