Great team effort by the Gamecocks! They looked like they didn't miss a step from their solid play before the finals. Now at 6-3, they will host Coker & NC A&T which they should win both easily, before hosting top-25 Iowa State. That should be a great game!

Great great win by the team today. Got a little dicey when the offense went to shite to end the first half but the defense will keep the team in just about every game this year

If they can keep playing defense like they have been .... they've got a chance to do some good things this season.

Yep. 5-3, dominating wins over a couple of power 5 teams, 3 losses by a combined 7 points? Not bad. Yeah we lost to Akron and Charlotte but for those that weren't watching on TV they mentioned that those back to back losses is what apparently what made everything click for this team.

It's been a long time since I have been this excited about our basketball team. The last two games have been incredible.

Listening on the radio, sounds like we came out flat/sloppy, but a late run pushes the lead to SC 35-23 at the half.

Same, because shitty arse Time Warner is fricking turrible and doesn't allow SECN to be streamed on watchespn.

I went to livechat on Time Warner's website to bitch and tell them I was switching to Uverse if they didnt' add the service before baseball season and the camel jockey on the other end LIED and told me it was a technical issue and their "expert engineers" were working on it

Uverse here I come

He looks hungry out there, lots of energy, he definitely looks like he gives a damn. He was in that FM dog house last year, but he's really stormed out this year.

actually, this is meant to be good, we aren't committing a lot of fouls and there are 11 more TPOS teams fouling more often than us.

Coming into today's game, we were also:

4th - Scoring Defense (42nd nationally)
2nd - FG % Defense (5th nationally)
2nd - Scoring Margin (43rd nationally)
3rd - Rebounding Margin (40th nationally)

I think we bettered every one of those averages against Coker, so I doubt those rankings dropped any....

Awesome. We haven't played a lot of great teams, but we did WORK Okie St and put up a fight against Baylor. Then we put a beatdown on the taters after they had gone on an SEC run over 3 teams.

Here are the remaining games:

12/30/14 vs. North Carolina A&T TV Columbia, S.C. 7:00 p.m. ET
BROOKLYN HOOPS Presents
01/03/15 vs. Iowa State TV Brooklyn, N.Y. 6:00 p.m. ET

01/07/15 vs. Florida # TV Columbia, S.C. 7:00 p.m. ET
01/10/15 at Ole Miss # TV Oxford, Miss. 5:00 p.m. ET
01/13/15 vs. Alabama # TV Columbia, S.C. 7:00 p.m. ET
01/17/15 at Auburn # TV Auburn, Ala. 8:30 p.m. ET
01/20/15 vs. Tennessee # TV Columbia, S.C. 9:00 p.m. ET
01/24/15 vs. Kentucky # TV Columbia, S.C. 12:00 p.m. ET
01/28/15 at LSU # TV Baton Rouge, La. 7:00 p.m. ET
01/31/15 vs. Georgia # TV Columbia, S.C. 4:00 p.m. ET
02/03/15 at Arkansas # TV Fayetteville, Ark. 9:00 p.m. ET
02/07/15 at Vanderbilt # TV Nashville, Tenn. 4:00 p.m. ET
02/10/15 vs. Missouri # TV Columbia, S.C. 7:00 p.m. ET
02/14/15 at Kentucky # TV Lexington, Ky. 2:00 p.m. ET
02/17/15 at Georgia # TV Athens, Ga. 7:00 p.m. ET
02/21/15 vs. Texas A&M # TV Columbia, S.C. 12:00 p.m. ET
02/24/15 at Alabama # TV Tuscaloosa, Ala. 7:00 p.m. ET
02/28/15 vs. Mississippi State # TV Columbia, S.C. 6:00 p.m. ET
03/05/15 vs. Arkansas # TV Columbia, S.C. 7:00 p.m. ET
03/07/15 at Tennessee # TV Knoxville, Tenn. 4:00 p.m. ET

Lat year we ended at 14-20. I was hoping for some type of improvement in that record to mark some progress in the right direction for CFM. I think we are in a really good position to be significantly better than 14-20.

We should beat:
NCA&T
Auburn
Missouri
aTm
Miss St

We should win at least 1 of the series against (or have a 50%/50% chance if we play them once):
Florida
Alabama
Tennessee
Georgia
Arkansas

We probably will lose to:
Iowa St (they are playing really good ball.)
Ole Miss
Kentucky (they are just too good this year, but if we beat them just once, bring on the fines for rushing the court (if they are still ranked #1 when we play.))
LSU
Vandy

That would put us at 12 wins, and then we have to pick up half or more of the toss up/50-50 games to get above 14 wins. I think 17-19 wins isn't out of the question for us this season. If our defense holds up like it has the past 4 games (and we shoot a little better too) then we may even sniff 20 wins.

11 teams made the NCAA Tournament with 19-20 wins last year.
