How does Wally Hall stack up as a sports journalist? Do Razorback fans typically like his analysis?

Oh and he is no Orville Henry, no matter how hard he tries to copy what he did.

What's so funny?

He isn't a beat writer, he doesn't write articles that are investigative or research based, he writes editorials and opinion pieces.

He likes Gus Malzahn, therefore he sucks.

I think he used to be better. He's been somewhat controversial in the past, but I always kind of liked that. Last few years it seems like he's just out of original thoughts.

Pretty sure he's sucked a lot longer than anybody had heard of Gus. I have no idea what his opinion of Gus is because I haven't read anything he's written for five or six years.

frick Wally Hall. He doesn't do a terribly bad job when compared to the other sloths in this state, but he sure doesn't do a good job.

Wrote a glowing piece on him recently.
quote:

Malzahn was the first choice by a lot of Arkansas Razorbacks fans to be their head coach after interim coach John L. Smith’s debacle.

quote:

Or since his stints at Arkansas, Tulsa and back to Auburn as the head coach.
Malzahn, by all accounts, is a good Christian man. A strong, supportive husband and father.

quote:

[Malzahn] first started with the old Wing T and all the misdirection and options it offered, but he’s tweaked that considerably because Malzahn is a throwback coach.
He comes from the mold of Bear Bryant, ironically; Bryant, too, was from Arkansas...

No way, Gus is loved more in this state than Fat Bert. Only second to Frank Broyles.

That's not irony; that's a coincidence.

He also wrote glowing pieces on Houston Nutt and John Pelphrey.

Its his opinion, that's what he's paid to write.
