Dante Sawyer was added to the '15 Commitment List for SC today. He was originally a SC Commit for the '14 class, but new in January that he wasn't going to pass SC Admissions, so he enrolled in the Spring into East Mississippi CC.
SEC JUCO transfer rules state that a player must be at a JUCO 3 consecutive semesters (not counting Summer terms) in order to enroll at an SEC school. It was reported that Dante's Spring and Summer academic sessions went well, so 247 added him to SC Commitment list today. He is on track to enroll in Summer I next year.
Dante's Commitment moves the Gamecocks to #2 on 247's Site Rankings and #3 on the 247 Composite. The Gamecocks are already #2 on Rivals class rankings.
.....This further strengthens our shot at the July 2014 Recruiting National Championship, and since we already won the June 2014 Recruiting National Championship, we are now the favorites to win the Summer 2014 Recruiting National Championship.

Just Pray, PRAY. That Steve Spurrier doesn't want what your school wants
Cause we know how it will end. Props to The South Carolina coaching staff and South Carolina football for proving to be a recruiting force despite going 11-2 three years in a row for the first time in our programs history. Imagine if we start winning like we are accustomed to. Good luck on the trail guys. I'll be smiling ear to ear til February.

If I recall correctly Sawyers was dominant at the army all american game. Congrats. Who was his recruiter?

Yes, he did better in his Spring and Summer academics than he had being doing before. It wasn't enough to enroll this fall though, but it was enough to keep him out of JUCO. He'll just have to go to Prep for a semester, so we're arranging things for him at Fork Union. He'll come to SC in January as an EE for the '15 class.

Is this spin for saying the guy officially didn't qualify? Does that mean y'all have like 8 commits for 2016 too?

We haven't had any guys officially not qualify for the '15 class, so we're still building the '16 class and don't have a number yet. Remember though, we'll still beat y'all with whoever shows up. We could throw a hobbled QB with the flu on the field and still win.

Sawyer is a player. Wanted him BAD at Mizzou. Just messing with ya a bit. It is a positive spin on things though. Instead of threads about all of SC's commits not qualifying, turn it into a positive by laying claim to them as commits in future classes.
Shaw could beat us in a wheel chair. Unfortunately for you guys, you don't have Shaw anymore. We will remove the pain of that doink off the goal post this year.

How you figure? Shaw didn't kick that FG, Andrew Baggett did. He's still on your team...

I dont see how the Summer semester counts. But wish Sawyer the best of luck. Is he RS?

Summer sessions don't count in the SEC JUCO transfer rules. The rule states that the JUCO player must be at the JUCO 3 consecutive semesters before he is eligible to transfer to a SEC school (and Summer Sessions don't count.) So Sawyer enrolled at the JUCO this past Spring Semester. (So Sawyer is going JUCO for Spring '14, Fall '14, Spring '15 and then he'll be eligible to enroll at SC for Summer I '15.)

They are going to play him this year at EMCC. If he enrolls here in Summer I of '15 he'll have 4 years to play 3.

But without Shaw's 17 4th quarter points, we don't need that FG. Including, if I remember right, a TD on 4th and 15. Can't remember if that was regulation or OT.

First OT maybe? You're talking about the one to Ellington in the front right corner of the endzone right?
Anyways, happy to see us locking-u Sawyer again. He's a big time player.
