Why does every talking head think UF will be really good...

They return 17 players from a pretty bad team. IMO, everyone is trying to predict the next Auburn. UF has a great defense but is OC Roper finally the right man for the job. I even heard people talking about how great Andre Dubose will be this year. It's just seems like there is a whole lot of hype without any reason to believe that things have changed.

B/c ESPN loves Florida

Because injuries are no longer injuries.

Because they didn't have SEC depth last season, but now they've got it baby.

Well they'll have a good defense and it's not like their offense can get worse

People said this in 2012 and 2013. 11-2 1 year, 4-8 the other.
No one knows.

Solid defense and likely a serviceable offense barring no major injuries (I believe one of those Florida folks said they haven't had any).

Because Auburn made them look stupid

Injuries played a role in their season last year. I don't think they quit on Boom.

I think they will be a very tough team to beat, but because of their ridiculously hard schedule, 8-9 wins is probably the ceiling. A great defense can beat a lot of teams. All Driskel has to do is be decent.

Who has said this? I can see picking them to be the surprise team because they're the only recently good team who had an awful season but I don't think I've seen anyone pick them top 2 in the east

Now you've done it - kills me to agree with the Gump.

Still hard for me to fathom a Florida team with all those recruits only had 4 wins...

All the stars aligned just right for all the bad reasons, and every thing that could go wrong went wrong for UF. I think this team is hungry to erase the memories from last year

They have a great defense but their schedule is tough. They play USC, UGA, Ala, LSU, FSU and Mizzou might be good again.

Its kind of funny no one is saying shite about UF playing FSU every year now that FSU is good again

It is really hard to fathom as a Gator fan. Last season just sucked for Football.
Early in the year every of UF defensive starter was 4 or 5 stars recruits.

Because their defense will be better and the offense can't possibly be worse. If the offense has a pulse they can win a lot of games with that defense.

The team last year wasnt so bad actually until the injuries really added up. They lost both starting ots, their best dt, 5 lbs (at various times, some season long), they lost their starting qb and starting rb too. Also their starting guard played hurt most of the year cause his back up was playing tackle.
They had 11 different ol lineups in 2013.
They didnt have the same defense line up at any point from game to game last year. One of their best corners missed six games, they lost their starting end and the back up tackle that startrd for easley got hurt too
It was an unmitigated disaster. Perfect storm type stuff.
Even with all that they were one score away from beating miami, georgia, and usce, and they were within one score in the 4th against mizzou and lsu.
So now they have what looks to be a better offense, they are 100% healthy, and they have one of the most experienced qbs in the conference surrounded by a much better team.
Whats not to like?
