How often do Mississippi recruits stick nowadays? Seems like Bama has a harder time pulling them out, or holding onto them if you manage to do so, than y'all do with Louisiana recruits.

Good pick-up even so.

Yeah, we've had a hard time landing them lately (outside of the JUCO rankings). We now have one committed for 2015 and one committed for 2016. Come to think of it, I cant remember the last Mississippi kid that even committed to Bama. Maybe current player Malcolm Faciane? Most of them just flirt heavily with committing to Bama before signing in-state.

Bo Davis, our D-Line coach, has good connections in Mississippi, so maybe that will help turn the tide back in our favor (pun intended :rimshot:)

Did Hampton commit or just flirted with committing?

Flirted heavily. Was committed to Ole Miss since early in the process, decommitted three days before his announcement, and then recommitted to Ole Miss at a hat ceremony.

Okay, it's coming back to me now. That was a wild few days in recruiting. Half my family is bleached-in-the-white-wool Ole Miss and they were gnashing teeth when they thought Bama was swooping in to steal him. Him and Tony Conner. Mississippi has been bizarrely good at hanging onto their kids despite the obvious advantages Bama has. I'm from there and I still don't quite understand what the Mississippi schools are doing that the Louisiana/Georgia/Florida schools aren't.

If he doesn't commit to us I would rather see him at Bama than State.

Waynesboro is in Mississippi, but I guess y'all can have it if you want.

Bo Davis is back on staff. It is not coincidence that we have two commits from the state of Mississippi in the few months he has been back.

Anything down near meridian can go to another country as far as I am concerned. Wierd area down there. Kind of amazed we kept Hampton away from Bama. Nice wallet pick up on Jones. As with all MS recruits, I would assume there will be some drama later though.
