Having driven through Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida in the last couple weeks I've noticed how ridiculously high Louisville's gas prices are. I just saw on my FB that downtown Louisville has gas for $4.19 a gallon and it was $3.99 for a few weeks before I left on vacation. It's just $3.15 in Elizabethtown which is about 30 minutes outside of Louisville.

Just curious as to how much you pay per gallon in your area?

$4.09 for premium in Las Vegas.

I'm guessing regular is like $3.85.

$3.54 in my area of Metro Atlanta. However, Louisville has that stupid add on in there gas and a higher tax causing the prices to be much higher than it could be.

The tax shouldn't make that much of a difference per gallon. Even with the different formulation they constantly feed the bullshite of "well (insert random event) is causing prices to be so high" yet several other major metro areas manage to keep it lower.

In some states, it does. Other than that it's based on volume

$3.36 - $3.40 here. There's generally not much variation in prices here and it may be the same in your area, but you might want to check out a site like this one. I checked and they're on the money for my home.
