This is the stupidest thing I have ever seen
I am sure Notre Dame topped this list circa 2005
USC probably topped the list after the 2008 season

It's fair as long as it is through 2016. I think Alabama is on the way back to being a normal "elite" team, if they aren't there already.

That's an awfully subjective metric for a whoppin' 20 points.

Typical ESPN. Let's name the 20 biggest programs. List the top 3, put the rest in a hat, and fricking draw names.

Meh. This will change over time. People still haven't internalized the new reality that's showing up on all the recruiting rankings. For recruits, the SEC+Texas A&M brands >>> the Longhorn+B12 brands, and we're leveraging it for all it's worth.
Plus, the horns, as talent-drained as they're going to be, will still have the best roster in the B12 by far. They'll be high in the rankings on name recognition and an easy schedule. They and OU are likely destined to run the table in their conference, then get destroyed when (if) they make the playoffs.

Espn can't even predict next season, stuff like this is dumb. It's like being projected to win in Mario party even though you still have 5 turns left and anything can happen, it doesn't matter
