With Carter and a couple of DB's breaking the 2 deep, this looks just about right. I see Thorton I listed #1 at NT. I'm borderline on that one.

I really frickin hate that we play bama next year, because just looking at who we lose, we might be in for a really long season in '15.

I don't see any of those being KR, and especially not Gurley being #2 KR.

Why not? He ran one back for a TD in his first game.

Yeah..then we realized how good he is and decided it's not worth the risk.

He's by far, without question, the best player we have and one of the best at the position we've had in school history.

You don't put him at KR when there are other guys equally as capable.

We really need to have a big season this year. There are an abundance of seniors and upperclassmen that could leave early. 2015 could be brutal.

I don't think there's anyone as capable. They may be serviceable but he's probably the best returner on the team.

Patrick Peterson and the Honey Badger were both starters and important to LSU...but they didn't have a problem letting them return kicks or punts.

I lean more towards the disney side of center, and I'm always fired up come September...but holy shite it looks like we are in major, major trouble in 15. I didn't realize all the losses.

Just looking ON PAPER, in summer of 2014 mind you, we could potentially have 6 losses in '15.

Damn right. I live amongst a ton of Bama fans. We should be solid at RB but we lose Andrews, maybe one or two more off the OL. Almost everybody at WR, and the starter at QB. Not even counting Bailey, Drew, Herrera, Wilson, etc on defense. Could be a long year. Better enjoy '14.

No shite... I'm hoping the hoop dawgs put together a stellar recruiting class so there's something to look forward to in 2015.

You don't know. YOu didn't know about TG until he actually got the chance either. We have 2 other stud RBs (that are on paper in teh same speed class as TG) that are 3rd and 4th string that could do it, we have a handful of speedy WRs, and we have an incoming FR who basically earned a scholarship based on teh strength of his return abilities alone.

Also, not to downplay TG at all, but it was buffalo dude.

Those guys returned punts, not kickoffs. Punts are different. You could either fair catch it, let it go past you, or let it go out of bounds...in other words you don't necessarily have to return it. On a kickoff, you have 11 guys running full speed ahead for roughly 30-40 yards before getting to you. A punt is so much different.

In addition, Mathieu was a completely different player than TG. TM was tailor made for punt returns because elusiveness and quickness were his strengths. Todd does have some moves, but his forte isn't making people miss and juking, it's getting hard yards and running north and south. We simply don't have any reason to put him on returns. The only way I would ever want him returning kicks is if our season is on the line. Whether it's needing a win against AU to win the east, or in the 2nd half in teh SECCG, or in teh national title..something like that.

The 2013 recruiting class isn't doing so well so far, especially on the defensive side.

The offense will be fine, but our recruiting on defense was pretty mediocre for the past few years. Too many low ceiling guys, not enough speed and upside to develop.

2015 could get ugly. A bunch of freshmen and sophomores playing at every defensive position as well as at receiver.

With all the good things we are hearing about Shaq Jones and Shattle Fenteng, I wouldn't worry too much about Quincy Mauger. But with his experience in big games I think he would provide a quality backup.

I think the plan is for them to play corner. Parrish and Sanders are more flexible

Yeah that's a good point. I thought I remembered Peterson returning kicks but I'm not sure. I just know special teams have been average and Gurley makes shite happen.
