Clearly Cam Newton is responsible for Gene Chizik's firing

Cam made Gene look like an elite coach when he singlehandedly won a national title.
The moment that Auburn won the national championship, I wonder if Gene silently knew that he was a fraud...nowhere near an elite coach. He was just a lucky bastard coaching a team (rather a kid) at the right moment in history.
I wonder if Gene could predict his subpar coaching performance beyond Cam?
I wonder if Gene in a round about way wishes Cam never would've happened at Auburn simply because Cam exposed Gene as a fraud.
That's what selling your soul to the Devil earns you, and I think Gene knows that. In this respect, I feel badly for Gene.

Gene got himself fired. He resented that Gus got all the credit for the 2010 BCS Championship and put a leash on him and it backfired. Gene is an idiot.

Mother effing this. I remember when Gene's book came out in the summer of '11 (I think it was?) and a lot of people criticized him for how little he mentioned his assistants, particularly Malzahn, when he got to the part where he talked about the 2010 season. He then went on to put Malzahn on a leash, restricting his play calling completely after the South Carolina game.
If I had to rank the people most responsible for that 2010 season, I would rank them like so:
1. Cam Newton
2. Gus Malzahn
3. Senior leadership
4. Michael Dyer
5. Gene Chizik

This is always funny to me.
If Cam Newton would have went to MSU, they would NOT have won the national title. AU wouldn't have won a national title without Cam, but Cam wouldn't have won one without AU.

Most around him say he came out with the book because of how little credit he was given. in the end success was his demise.
And it wasnt after the USC game, it was during that game. you can see the play calling shift
