Ranters, football season is finally right around the corner. If you've been following your team throughout the offseason, then this thread is for you. Why? Because it's time to select members for the 2014 SECRant Football Power Rankings Committee. We're looking for posters that are not only knowledgeable about their team, but are also able to analyze and discuss specific aspects of their team and the conference. AND you need to be able to express these thoughts in a coherent and personable way. So if you think you can do what's above, you're what we're looking for.

If you haven't noticed, we're looking for a little more from our voters than last year. Why is this? Well, this year we're changing it up a little bit. In addition to the weekly Power Rankings, we will also be doing Team Previews for the remainder of this offseason and featured Games of the Week throughout the regular season.

You might be wondering how we'll be able to pull this off...well that's where y'all come in. This year's PR Committee members will not only vote for the weekly Power Rankings, they will also help create the Team Previews (for their team) and analyze the featured Games of the Week (which will feature the two teams in a head-to-head format). If all this sounds overwhelming, don't fret. Your team board admins, Semo and myself will be there to tell you what content we want and to help with the overall formatting. We just need the content and team fandom from you. You're the experts, after all!

Voter identities will be kept confidential in order to make the rankings as impartial and unbiased as possible. The previews and game analysis will be posted by us to keep your identity private. If you're selected, the only way someone will know you're a voter is if you tell them.

So if this sounds like fun to you, and you think you have the time and talent, email us at SECRantPR@gmail.com. In your email, include your TD/SECR name and a brief explanation why you want to do this and why you think you'd be good. And yes, emailing us is a requirement. Don't worry though, any and all personal info will only be seen by Semo or myself.

Final decisions will be made Semo, Nino and the admins, and we need 2 representatives from each team. Deadline for consideration is Saturday, July 12th, 12:00PM ET.

Thanks,

Semo & Nino

PS: Congrats on the NC

That was actually a pretty funny read. Didn't know they get angry over the silliest of things. Don't get bitten Nino!

Their OT Braves thread is longer than our baseball national championship thread

In fairness, there are only like 8 of us. We also haven't quite gotten that obsessed to the point that our lives depend on it stage yet. It might ruin the rest of a day if Vandy loses, maybe even the next day if it's football or a big game in baseball or MBB. I'm fairly certain football losses ruin weeks for them.

You can't be like that and survive the run of seasons we had in the 80's
...
and 90's
...
and most of the 00's!

Well, I was born in the 90s, so I've only had to suffer recently. Fair point though. You have to be a resilient sort to be a Vandy fan.

I honestly wish I could, but I can't actually guarantee the time. Some weeks, I have oodles of time because I've managed to delegate all responsibility. Some weeks, people actually expect me to work for my salary.
