Some people go crazy at the suggestion. Others are cool with it. How does this board feel.

I bring this up because JJ green seens like he could be fricking good as a PR.

If they have an ability to do it then let them.

But if you are putting them back there just as a place holder or because they have some speed... Then no. We all have seen what putting someone back there without the proper training/ability can do... Looking at you Damian

I'm all for it if they're the best for the job with certain exceptions. I wouldn't want Gurley back there this year. I wouldn't Swann back there this year even if he was very good at it because he's our most experienced guy in a young, thin defensive backfield. Everybody else is a go.

If McKenzie is the best then I want him back there, but I would be shocked if he's the primary guy against Clemson. I hope I'm shocked and he's the best we've ever had.

No one will ever tear the title of GOAT PR from Logan Gray

As long as it's not Gurley I want the person who gives us the best chance to break one back there.

Whoever is the best for the job, including Gurley. Hell, especially Gurley.

Put your best players on the field. Period.

If they get hurt, who cares. You were trying to win. They could get hurt running/catching the football, at practice, etc.

Lack of depth last year i understand, but this year their needs to be a five star running back returning kicks vs the teams that stack ST with 3rd stringers and walkons.

Starters should play on special teams. I wouldn't expect to see Green back there though due to lack of depth in the secondary.

um - we need to take special teams more seriously on ALL levels.

This has been one of the biggest, and most justified, knocks on Richt.

ST is 1/3 of the game. A big play on ST can (and often does) make or break a big game.

So yes, put the best folks we have back there. Play to win.

And act like it MATTERS to pin our opponents deep

To be fair, it didn't matter last year.

I agree with most here that it should be all hands on deck on STs, within reason. I don't really want to see Gurley back there.

It's worth noting that a lot of times your starters aren't really your best returners.

I think the returners will be McKenzie and Michel/Chubb.

I've thought for several years now that you should recruit a player every year that is primarily your KR/PR guy. That's his bread and butter. Sure, he can come in and play other positions but not be a starter.

I think McKenzie is going to fit that role nicely.

Gurley ran one back his first game then never returned again that I can remember. Boykin was a starting corner and was the best returner I can remember at Georgia.

We used 6 different kickoff returners last year.
The average kick off return started at the 6 yard line.
We averaged 6 kick off return attempts per game last year
