Depends on how big a bitch she is I guess.
If she's awesome in bed and an horrible bitch I guess it could work.
ETA: In most cases, and probably yours based on the way you worded it, you'll want to hook back up anyways so you should either be honest with how you feel about her and what you really want to come of it.

She's essentially an alcoholic with trust issues. I had to drop her just so I wouldn't be brought down into that.

Oh, then no. She's destructive and she'll probably always be that way. If you can bang her and not fall for her, I'd take a shot. Again, the way you worded it makes me think it's not really possible.

If you don't like her, yes. But then the sex isn't anywhere near as good. It's almost a complete waste of time... except it's still sex which is awesome.
But why risk it? Having sex with someone you don't care for is never anywhere close to sex with someone you desire. Women can be absolutely horrible creatures to deal with, but when you fall for one, and lose yourself in her, it makes all their count-like behavior worth it.

Eh, my policy is once we're broken up that's it. I'd give my current ex a chance in another six months to a year (need a buffer) but, depending on the people and their maturity, it's possible.
