What's up with having all these crazy realistic nightmares?

I've had them every night for over a week. On a couple of occasions I was still really tired, but damn nightmares actually pushed me to the point of being afraid to go back to sleep so quickly out of fear of re-entering the same dream. When I do eventually get up and stay up, it takes me forever to shake them.

Am I going crazy or is this just a stress thing?

Never have done either. Never done any drugs (haven't had any medicine at all in a looooong time), anything tobacco related, and I only drink on rare, celebratory occasions.

I am the dream interpreter. What is your nightmare?

Stress will do it. Since you mentioned it, you undoubtedly know the source of the particular stress that's disrupting your sleep pattern.

Address the source and understand why and how it's affecting you and its effect will diminish. Whether or not the stress disappears is not all-important. Compartmentalize it and you'll be good to go.

This is very important. I also have a friend who has experience in dream interpretation.

I have a recurring theme in my nightmares, that I figure I'll share because this stuff interests me at least moderately.

Most of my nightmares revolve around post-apocalyptic landscapes (obviously rife with danger, needn't be said but I will) and the theme, generally, is a place of safety while witnessing chaos. Usually from a high point, where I'm just close enough to be in danger but at least feel somewhat secure.

I've had this 'nightmare' ever since I got out of the Navy and I probably have the same one once or twice a week since.

High in a building, deep underground, massive mansion with one wing under some form of agent trying to work its way in.

It isn't the same one over and over again. It's just nightmares on a regular basis. I try to block most out, but the one I remember the most was some woman knocking on my door. I answered and suddenly her face got all distorted and it went to like a video game type thing. She had a background behind her and she said something like "choose your fate" and four options came up Pokemon style. I don't know what they were, because I woke up at that point.

I'm a grown arse man damnit I'm legitimately kinda pissed that they get to me.

My first lucid nightmare had a very similar article. Couldn't make out faces at all, and apparently it's a common theme with most dreams.

You are stressed out because you are living a boring life and you need to get out more and drink alcohol socially with the women. Glad I could, this one is free.

I don't think there is any real stress. With my job most of the time all I have to do is sign stuff, talk to people, and read over stuff. I barely have to actually leave for work. I hang out with my kid (still a baby, but no stress over him because he's the GOAT baby) and buddies a lot. Everything good with the wife.

Maybe it's just a thing?

When I was younger I was good at realizing I was dreaming and then taking that bitch over.

Now? Nothing. I never realize I'm dreaming during the actual dream. I don't really want to, but it was fun to be able to do whatever I wanted in em.

That's bizarre because it used to be the same way with me. I had a nightmare once about being at basic training again (I know, lol) and realized that I had graduated and all that jazz and I was like: Thank God for that, just have to wait until I wake up.

Now, though, no matter what insanity is going on I don't seem to be in any sort of control. Although, I get a psychological sense that my brain enjoys being frightened or in a compromising position.

Breakfast is usually before 9.

Lunch is usually before 2.

Supper is usually around 7.

Snacks throughout the day if I feel like it. Don't worry, unless I can't, I usually find time to get a good run in. Since my son was born I don't work out as much though. Like 3 times a week nowadays.

In some dreams I'll do some cool shite just naturally. I fly in almost all of my dreams.

Bitch I'm Superman.
