Sounds great on paper, but I doubt anything changes.

I mean there have been signs for "Slower traffic keep right" for a while and nobody seems to care. Now, if law enforcement makes a serious effort to start ticketing, and word spreads, that would be glorious. However, then you're looking at the slippery slope of the of other car in this situation getting tagged for speeding and/or following too close.

I don't know, I'm rambling.

Police will never enforce it, unless they're trying to get their DUI quotas.

It will mostly enable more road rage.

I know it's a wait n see scenario on the bills enforcement, but this is a step in the right direction. The hordes of clueless carpet baggers impeding traffic on the states interstate systems has got to end.

I'm not exaggerating in the slightest bit, at all.

During my commute either to or from work, when I'm on the stretch of about 15 miles of highway that I take, 3 out of 4 times that there is someone going ridiculously too slow in teh left lane it is a female minority on a cell phone. It pisses me the frick off. I've started getting in the habit after I pass them of cutting back over into the left lane just ahead of their bumper.

Exactly....all this does is give the police another reason to pull you over and harass you. Get your check books ready.

Sounds like another useless piece of legislation that was passed to appease the masses.

I'm fine with designating the far left lane as the "fast lane" and motivating slower drivers to stay out of it if they are going too slowly, but there's no real way to enforce this unless the faster car is a cop.

It's a symbolic measure passed to shore up votes, IMO.

This. In my state we've had a variant of this law on the books for years which was recently amended in 2013 to address situations where there's construction occurring in the right hand lanes of traffic. It is ACA 27-51-301 in this LINK.

What I have seen because it is written up in reports as such is that you have a vehicle in the middle lane of a 3 lane road (usually the Interstate) and the vehicle is traveling near the speed limit but it is alleged that because of the speed driven other vehicles are having to pass it on the far left lane in order to get around it. The vehicle in the middle lane which is "impeding" the flow of traffic (usually from another state) is then pulled over for impeding traffic, one thing leads to another and then something major like a quantity of drugs is discovered. This results in an arrest and trip to the police station.

I understand the need to police slow moving vehicles which truly impede traffic and cause a backup but you also have to be aware of the principle that if you give the government an inch they will take a mile.

I'll do that time to time but the best part of driving a truck is riding the slow cars arse long enough they realize that you're a hazard to yourself and them and that'd it behoove them to merge.

After driving my sisters crossover for a month i realized it only works when your car takes up their entire rear window.

I would do that when I had a truck/SUV, but idiots are idiots, and most people are just completely oblivious to their surroundings while behind the wheel. Doesnt' matter if you're in a ford focus or an F350, sometimes it might take someone 30 minutes to even realize you're behind them. That's why I just pass them and get directly in front of them real quick to let em know I'm there.

How many of you assholes are the big truck driving rednecks that pull the reverse pit on me, then go the same damn speed i was going, 9 over.

Eta lately 14 over, super speeder law has gsp interested in 85+ lately. Pass them doing 84 alot and they dont seem to care any more.

In my younger years that was definitely me. These days I usually give the driver time. My truck is too slow to whip around cars and my insurance payment is shitty enough without me getting tickets. If it gets ridiculous, I pass. What drives me nuts, though, is when a driver is 9 over, then 4 over, then 2 under, then the limit, then 3 over and is just all over the place. Then you pass them and they ride your arse at a consistent 9 over.
