I say let the family decide. They can retire it if they want or make it some kind of honor to whoever wears it

At first I said retire it, but since then I've read some of Jalen Harris's tweets and man he loved Lutz. I know it would mean a lot to him to wear #43 whether he earned it or not. Heck he may not even play his freshman year, but I know it would mean the world to the kid to wear that Jersey.

I think everyone should wear it, this year in a patch on the jersey or sticker on the helmet.

I had a decent amount of interaction with Lutzie and he was all the guy and more that people are remembering him as. That being said, we are fortunate enough that he is not the only great Auburn Tiger in our history. Retiring a number is not the way to go, it is unfair to the other great Tigers who have passed away.
I truly believe something special should be done for the impact he has had on the program but retiring hte number is not it

We have two players with that number. Find a way to honor Lutz, but I prefer a season award

Exactly. I am also 100% in favor of beginning this tradition by letting Jalen be the first to wear it. I don't care whether it's worn this year or not. But start the tribute in 2015 with Jalen.

I think it should go to a Senior who has lettered 4 years and is widely consider the epitome of a "Auburn Man", and is as good off the field as he is on the field...just like Phillip was.
