re: OT: Freshman bars

I'll be that guy all season long in the student section

Like 5 years ago when i stared they lived in the middle of nowhere and had like 20 people and pretty much budded anyone that came to a single event. Don't really think they had socials besides maybe one with dg or something.

I will say since they got their new house they didnt seem like as big of a joke. I think the alumni(which it apparently was really good before they got kicked off way back in the day) are really trying. No clue though I never knew any of them personally. Maybe they're turning into something better but if you went there don't expect awesome parties and good socials right away

I mean at the end of the day do what you want. Honestly nobody cares if you're in one or what one you're in after about a year in a half. Go wherever you feel like you fit in. I think I've told you before but I've met happy people in lower ranked ones and some people who obviously don't fit in the old row ones.

But if you're motive is to join the ones with the most respect on campus(especially from sorority girls) I'd consider somewhere else. Unless a lot has changed quickly, they were a complete afterthought when I started. Not even looked at as bottom teir, really not even considered when talking about those.

That said I don't know that much anymore and who knows they could be cool

How the frick is Buddha Bar, of all places, still open? I fricking hated that place; only went in when I was following pussy around.


Downtown's landscape has changed too much and it seems like only shitty places like Buddha and Flanagan's managed to survive. I hear Beaureard's ain't what it used to be, either. At least Firehouse is gone... frick that place.

Well hitting the table to do those chopstick shots was fun. But yeah, if my friend wasn't working the bar and letting me get wasted for 5 bucks I don't think I would have ever stepped in there.

Oh I know what you're talking about. Name escapes me but it seemed like a freshman spot. Lot of drunken nights spent on that Sideways rooftop as an underclassmen. If that is still there it's probably a place worth going.
