sounds like O-line will be good with decent RB's. aTm might be using that 6'6" 270 lb TE more this year per reports. is aTm offense evolving to a more balanced run/pass system?

I think we will run it more early on while breaking in the new QB and open it up more as Hill/Allen becomes more comfortable.

It will be interesting to see what Spavital cooks up this year, he's a lot more creative than McKinney who was demoted before the bowl game last year

You should punctuate this to look more like a command rather than a statement or a report

More pocket passing, less quarterback scrambles.

Will probably still lead the league in offense.

This too, especially if Allen is the QB. Hill is a good athlete and we will probably do designed runs for him and he will improv a little, but no way it will be close to what it was like with JFF

Spavital is gonna have TAMU running more packaged plays. By that I mean the run/pass options based on pre snap alignment. Within those plays, they'll run some variations of the stick/draw concept.

Holgo ran those at OSU with great affect. The QB reads the LB off the snap. If he's crashing he fakes the draw and throws a quick stick route to the TE. If the LB covers the TE off the line, he runs a bit of a "draw/zone read" to the back.

This is all out of the shotgun formation and the blocking schemes are similar regardless of the read at the snap or the read on the scrape if the QB pulls it to run.

I really love the Sumlin/Holgo/Kingsbury/Spavital variant of the Air Raid. Very innovative offense IMO and that's without us discussing tempo being utilized as a part of the offense.

With several five star running backs, yes they better run more. Should have run every other play last year against LSU in the rain but did the opposite for some reason.

So do I. The air raid name really is a misnomer now, it can be an extremely effective running offense. I realize we had JFF but people forget we led the SEC in rushing in 2012 with like 245 YPG. OK State has had some solid rushing offenses too

Yeah idk if T.O.P. Was really the determine factor. 30 sec TD's are a lot different from 3and outs...we should have ran more and benched manziel, but hey I'm just a fan.

Yeah if Hill starts that and we run it more I don't think we win, but it sure isn't the slaughter that it turned out as, probably like 34-21 or something

aggies have a decent O-line and good depth at RB - can't see them wasting all that talent. combined with QB situation, reasonable to assume they'd go with more conservative offense - at least early in season

If we do run more I think Tra Carson will surprise a lot of people. He's sneaky explosive for his size. James White was impressive in practices as well and Trey Williams should bust some big plays. Will be interesting to see if Brandon Williams can get some touches worked in
