The more I read, see the building process, I think we may pull off a decent 2nd season under CBB. The recruiting is meeting the needs in many areas, the strength and conditioning program seems to be reaping benefits. The kind of kids coming to the hill seem to have less problems publicly thus far, and a staff that is what I believe to be doing very well overall.
The running back group is impressive, Jojo and Corn will do well at WR along with others. I am actually getting a little excited to see the improvement.
so... Am I right, or am I crazy!

I think we will go 4-0 in our non conference, then we only need to win 2 games out of a possible 8 to get a bowl. Our run game will be one of the best in the country, so if Allen can just manage the offense, get a few 3rd and longs, and not turn the ball over, I feel confident that we can win at least 2 SEC games.
That Georgia game is one to watch also, no one is giving us a chance, but when you ask why the answer is always "Todd Gurley."
Gurley is a good running back but he's just one guy, plus we have our own elite running back tandem with Collins and JWill. Georgia loses their 4 year starter at quarterback and they have some questions on defense after a bad performance last year.
It has all the makings of a trap game for Georgia. It's also the second straight road game for them after traveling to Mizzou the week before they come to Little Rock.
That's a possible W, and the other two that I'm confident about are Ole Miss and Lsu.

We will be better, but it's still a long row to hoe (old country saying.)
Some of the more astute and observant posters on tRant saw that we got better towards the end of the year, they see the building process that's going on and acknowledge that we could give some folks some problems this year.
The ones that see it but don't dare acknowledge it just say 'Bert's fat.'
The rest are just oblivious.
IF we can get just adequate SEC level QB play this year, I think we've got a good shot at winning 2 or so conference games out of Mizzou, Miss State, Ole Miss, aTm and will pull an 'upset' somewhere out of LSU, Georgia, or as a long shot, Auburn. Texas Tech could be a win.
If the QB position pans out, we *could* go bowling.

If Allen could throw at a 60-65% clip this season then I would be surprised if we didn't hit 6 wins.

Since you asked......I'd say probably a little of both.
I think the talent is there in most facets of our game for some good things to happen--much of it will come down to execution and playing 60 minutes of football. The way we finished out the past season gives me some hope and fans from other teams saw the same thing.

Georgia doesn't have any ginger QBs on the roster, I hope?

I'm hopeful as well. However, I'm hesitant because I always start getting hopeful around mid to late summer....including the last two years.

To us or to the defense?

Were Wilson or Mallett even at 65%? Allen does that, we should win 10.

I think it's reasonable to expect Allen to be at 55 to 58% this season with something approaching a 2 to 1 TD to INT ratio.
I expect we'll win 6 games. I figure our range is 4-8 wins.
The YPA is going to be a big thing. If that goes up it's a great sign for us.

Mallet was 55.8% in '09 and then they went 64.7%, 63.2% and 62.1% over the next three years.
However during the exact same four year period at Wisconsin, Bielema's QB's went 64.3%, 72.9%, 72.8% and 58.8%.

I would say we need to score 20+ TDs on the ground and 20+ through the air to have a "successful season".

Well Russell Wilson was really good. Brandon Allen; we shall see.

picked up a Hooten's and Lindy's today and they both pick us last in the west. I don't think it will be that bad again this year. I'm thinking 5-6 wins

Wilson was only one of the four years in that stretch. He was 72.8%.

was curious how long it'd take for that to be pointed out.
