So what SEC school has the best bar scene?

Ours is ok......but the best I've seen is in Athens, GA.

It ain't Columbia. Can't think of one better than Athens. Haven't been to Gainesville though

It's Athens and will always be Athens. And Athens downtown only continues to grow and evolve. If our local gov't can ever get its head out of its arse and commit to a longterm downtown master plan, it could even become untouchable so far as college towns are concerned (see Jack Crowley's ongoing series in the Flagpole).

No way. We don't have the best but it's probably middle of the pack. I've been out in BR and Oxford. BRs bars are scattered all over the place with no cabs and Oxford has like 8-10 that close down at midnight. I'll take NG over those two all day.
Northgate has probably 20 bars all in a 3x3 block area. It's not great by any means but it's a lot of fun when you're in school there. Everything I've heard places Athens as a clear number one. I'm pissed we don't play until like 2021

Athens is one of the few towns I haven't been to, even though I have to pass it somewhat when I'm going home to Columbia. Can't wait till next year.

Don't get me wrong. I've had some good nights at Northgate as a tshirt fan but I don't know a lot of non Ags that love it.

Georgia is the hands down winner but I've had fun in every SEC town I've been to.
Athens, Tuscaloosa, Starkville, oxford, and Baton Rouge (last 4 in no particular order). Nashville is a great town in general, but haven't been because of football.

I've had plenty of other friends come from other schools and have great drunken nights and praise it. You just have to accept it for what it is, it's cheap shitty college bars all right next to each other. I underrated it myself until going to other college towns honestly
