Gwinnett County police say a former Georgia Tech player, who also briefly signed with the Atlanta Falcons, kept a child locked in his basement for more than a year
Investigators tell Channel 2's Tony Thomas that the 13-year-old had not seen his own brothers and sisters for months. "He was essentially being treated as a prisoner would be treated," Corporal Jake Smith said.

Pretty messed up.
I remember Wimbush from way back in his Early Co. days when we played them for state in 98.

Weird that a highly successful engineering student would do that to one of their 10 children.

Word coming out that the 13 year old is mentally ill and had been molesting the other younger siblings.
Not really an excuse. Wimbush should have reported it to authorities and had his son institutionalized and under psychiatric care at the very least. Don't think taking the matter in to your own hands to save money and/or avoid embarrassment is the prudent thing to do. But I'm guessing one or both of those are the reasons why he locked the kid up in the basement rather than telling someone his son was a deviant mental case.

I must have missed the part where this act was in any way condoned by the institute. Stay classy, DR.

If he's a current student, representing your athletic program? Yep. A guy who hasn't been affiliated with your school in a decade? Nope.

You act like you're affiliated with Ga Yech. Don't you live in Athens?

Yes.
I'm the only Tech fan living in Athens.

So, what's your affiliation? And unless you drive a Ford Explorer (older model) I've never seen a GT license plate in ACC.

Not all Tech people are molesters.
Some Tech fans are child molesters who keep kids locked in the basement.
All Tech fans hate Georgia.
We need a Venn diagram for this.
