A team from the SEC has played in National Title game every year for the last 7 years coming away with 4 titles. Could the SEC be on its way to dominating Football and Baseball??

2009 LSU Paul Mainieri 7-6, 1-5, 11-4 Texas Jared Mitchell, LSU
2010 South Carolina Ray Tanner 7-1, 2-1 (11) UCLA Jackie Bradley, Jr., South Carolina

Where were you in the 90s and 2000s?

I think the SEC started this a while back when Georgia won the national title in 1990 and LSU began it's amazing run of 5 titles to complete the decade. With South Carolina, LSU, and Vandy's recent titles, coupled with Mississippi State and Florida making it to the championship series, I think the SEC has staked its claim as the best conference. Don't think the SEC is "slowly" taking over. I think it already has.

I thought they have been the best baseball conference for years.

I would say sports in general
SEC rules gymnastics
SEC has at least double the Final Fours of any other conference in W basketball
SEC softball NC was between 2 SEC teams and a 3rd finished in 5th place.
SEC dominates Track & Field
SEC holds it's own in M basketball
SEC represents in sports like golf, tennis, and swimming & diving.

Considering the sport, this is every bit of if not more impressive than the football run.

Seriously, the SEC has dominated baseball since I've been following it. Mississippi State was in Omaha often throughout the 80s and 90s. Of course LSU. Florida was there a lot on the 90s as well (do you even Brad Wilkerson, bro?). Georgia won a championship. Alabama, Auburn, and Tennessee were relevant, and Bama even made a run in Omaha. The in the 2000s add Arkansas and (in a big way) South Carolina.

1980's was still being dominated by west coast teams and Miami.

Hate to be a homer but we are 6 for 6 when making it to the finals. Not too shabby

Fair. But State was still a perennial power, and LSU came on the scene in the last few years of the decade. So I guess it's a stretch to say the SEC dominated, but the conference was on the scene and gaining more of a presence.

I think the SEC is the only conference that cares about baseball

I've been trying to figure out why the SEC is so good at sportsing.
