Do you guys think Texas will go after Corbin since their coach is 75 years and wants an extension? I believe he has one year left on his current contract and the AD will not comment or talk to him about an extension. I hope Vandy writes the check and won't let Corbin go. He's turned down several jobs including LSU in recent years.

Doubt Corbin would want to leave. He's going to get a massive raise and coming from someone who played competitive HS and Tavel ball in Nashville/middle TN growing up, I know how involved and entrenched Corbin is with living in Nashville. He's built an unbelievable network in the midstate for recruiting and he always seemed to me to be nothing but content at Vandy. Just my opinion though who knows.

Corbin has turned down interviews for MLB gigs.. He and his family love Nashville and he obviously takes a lot of pride in the fact that he built that program from the ground up... He isn't going anywhere.

I think Vandy makes him the 2nd highest paid baseball coach in the conference once his contract gets renegotiated... We'll never know for sure obviously.

Be pretty foolish to coach anywhere but the SEC if you want a spot in the CWS Championship games.

1990 Georgia beats Oklahoma State
1991 LSU beats Wichita State
1992 No SEC
1993 LSU beats Wichita State
1994 No SEC
1995 No SEC
1996 LSU beats Miami (FL)
1997 LSU beats Alabama
1998 No SEC
1999 No SEC
2000 LSU beats Stanford
2001 No SEC
2002 Texas beats South Carolina
2003 No SEC
2004 No SEC
2005 Texas beats Florida
2006 No SEC
2007 No SEC
2008 Fresno State beats Georgia
2009 LSU beats Texas
2010 South Carolina beats UCLA
2011 South Carolina beats Florida
2012 Arizona beats South Carolina
2013 UCLA beats Mississippi State
2014 Vanderbilt beats Virginia Cavaliers

I'm a Vandy season ticket holder of baseball, football and basketball. It's a legit question to ask. I don't think he goes anywhere, but if Texas goes after him they will put a blank check in front of him. I grew up in Texas and baseball talent runs deep there. Corbin's the best coach in college baseball right now and is in serious position to repeat as hard as that would be.

Corbin is one of the few true loyal coaches around.

He has not left Vandy after 12 years and he has no ties to the Texas program... I bet you Vandy pays him well so I see on reason why he would leave. He also has one of the top jobs in the country and in the best conference in the country. Why would you leave that situation?

This one hurts my heart... Not only did the Longhorns back door us in a Super in our own stadium, Alan Horne (OM transfer that won SEC Freshman of the year while a Rebel) started game 1 of the Championship series for a Gator squad that we went 4-2 against that season... Including a 17-2 arse beating in the SECt semis by Stephen Head and company.

I know it's a legit question. His timing is intentionally and attempting to damper happiness. THAT is why I responded like I did.

Why are some LSU fans so desperate to see NC-winning SEC coaches leave for Texas?

I heard Clemson went after Corbin right after the regular season and he shot them down in a hurry to the point where they had to give Legget a vote of confidence.

I doubt Texas pulls Corbin away from Vandy. Vandy will pay him more money to keep him around. Not Texas money, but enough for Corbin to stick around Nashville.

I'm lololololing at Clemson right now. They had a choice between Corbin, Leggit and O'Sullivan and they decide to keep Leggett and let Corbin go to Vandy and O'Sullivan go to Florida.

And then they thought they could get Corbin to come back.

I was never quite clear -- is Ingram an actual trustee or is he just somebody they call in for ad hoc committees because of his support for the athletics department?

Fairly certain he is just our biggest booster, so DW and Zeppos are nice enough to let him sit in while they spend his money.
