.1 I get so pissed about how much they try to act like recruiting classes is the measure of how good you are. It's means nothing.

This.

It's just not that important.

I'm not buying it. I've seen too much proof of the opposite.

Why are you incorrectly using "you're" on every board?

You'd think the champion had already been choosen according to recruiting.

Ditto.

I have a wife, a kid and a career -- sports are fun, but wins and losses mean absolutely nothing in terms my quality of or outlook on life.

I've said before that I'm quite certain there are dirt poor Bama fans out there who are utterly convinced they lead much better lives than doctors and executives who are Vandy alumni/grads because of athletic successes (which they had nothing to do with btw). Perhaps it's a way to get them through the day, but it's an extremely sad way to live your life.

^^^^^ Epitomizes who I'm talking about in my last post. There's a 95% chance this guy has never set foot on Alabama's campus, let alone been to Tuscaloosa.

2002: Ohio State (#5)
2003: LSU (#1, #15)
2004: USC (#1, #3, #13)
2005: Texas (#1, #15, #18, #20)
2006: Florida: (#2, #10, #15, #2)
2007: LSU (#2, #7, #22, #4)
2008: Florida (#1, #3, #2, #15)
2009: Alabama (#11, #10, #1, #1)
2010: Auburn (#19, #4, #20, #7)
2011: Alabama (#1, #1, #5, #1)
2012: Alabama (#1, #5, #1, #1)
2013: FSU (#6, #2, #10, #7)

here are the NC's since Rivals started...every team has had a recruiting class in their previous 4 year in the Rivals top 4

so

recruiting rankings are at least somewhat indicative

Contrare my friend, Recruiting has become the offseason season or second season. In other words Recruiting has become a competition in itself - the ole "my dad is bigger than your dad" thing.

As I have gotten older I have mellowed on a few things though. I will not watch a whole baseball game anymore - watch beginning and tune back in later to catch last couple of innings, I dvr a lot of basketball games in the season and watch them later if my team won, football however I watch from pregame to post game and dvr it and watch it again.
