Tennessee finished ahead of UGA and UF in all 4 recruiting services. Is Tennessee a lock to repeat?

With 5 potential 5* commitment and many highly rated 4* waiting to commit to Tennessee, I'd say yes.

Texas, Florida, Georgia can just sit back, set on cruise control and still finish top 10 in recruiting. Tennessee on the other hand have to dig and claw and fight to get stars on our roster. But history has proven that Tennessee can consistently recruit at an elite level. Fulmer out-recruited Florida and Georgia most of the time during his entire tenure.

I think so. I'm sure Georgia will finish strong. Florida is the big wildcard though. Muschamp being in limbo hurts them somewhat. If UF underperforms this season, I could see them skyrocketing up the rankings late with a new coach.

That's nice and all, but winning recruiting doesn't mean much if you can't win on the field. Recruiting is fun, but winning the season is all that really matters.

We only took like 32-33 but the answer is no. The only reason we could do that last year is because the roster was decimated and we could back count spots plus EE a lot of players to allow more back counting. This year we'll take ~25 (a full class) maybe a few less depending on what walk-on scholarships we offer and how many EE.

How did Pinkels 4-7 and 5-7 first 2 seasons work out for you guys?

It's a process, Butch will be fine.

From last year, Swafford is due a scholly for one and we gave a scholly to an LT walkon as well. Plus the 85 man roster limit comes into play.

Well Swafford was going to gray shirt last year but he did so well over the summer he chose to walk-on. The LT we gave a scholly to has been here for years as a walk-on but he broke through this spring to earn a scholarship (I think this is his senior year). On the flip side, Dews who was going to gray shirt (from the 2014 class) but now I think he's looking around.

I dunno, very possible though. If we win 10+ this year, then I expect us to finish very very strong.

Right now your average puts you in 4th place behind UGA, South Carolina and UF. Im thinking with the large class ya'll took last year the numbers will be against you.

247 has updated - we jumped 6 spots today. SC is the only one ahead of us in the East right now.

Right now UT isn't even close to being done. Real recruiting hasn't even started yet for UT.
