I'm 63 years old and Ole Miss will always be the Rebels in my mind. When I attended LSU, Ole Miss was our biggest rival, plus we had a Go To Hell Ole Miss week at LSU. Garbage cans were set on fire plus that was the big week for panty raids. I lived on campus and had a blast. I still have my Go To Hell Ole Miss button and I was a sophomore at LSU when Archie and company beat us in Jackson, Mississippi. That game still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. That game caused us a NC. The game was played in 1969 and I'll never forget that ride back home to BR. I loved it when the Ole Miss band played Dixie and their fans were waving their Confederate flags. Political correctness sucks and that crap iscausing a lot of schools to change their mascot.

Sorry, but Ole Miss will always be the rebels. The political correctness shite is causing a lot of traditions to die out. Ole Miss can change to any mascot that the political correctness approves, but that school will always be the Rebels to me. Why doesn't Alabama be forced to change their name from the Crimson Tide? After all, isn't that name illustrating a woman's monthly flow? Where in the hell is a tide or beach near North Alabama?
