What's the most ridiculous/incredible sports stat you've ever come across?

Mine:

In 1997, Greg Maddux started 33 games, went 19-2, only walked 14 batters, and went to a 3-0 count one time.

SEC related because he played in Atlanta.

Clearly not a prerequisite to be SEC.

See Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Kentucky.

I don't even hate your thread, but

Someone was gonna get the dig in so I figured I'd get it out of the way.

That is a pretty ridiculous stat though

All of those teams have played in Atlanta though.

Joe Sewell had 2 seasons with over 350 at bats and only struck out 3 times in each of those seasons.

I guess A&M has the Peach Bowl last year and I don't feel like looking up the others. No divisional titles though

Damn you for making me explain the joke too

I actually saw him pitch in person twice that season ... and I'm not even a Braves fan.

The Chicago Cubs have not been no-hit in 49 years - a span of 7,773 games.

The team that Mississippi State has beaten the most (outside of Ole Miss) is LSU

Tony Gwynn hit .429 against Greg Maddux, with 39 hits in 91 at-bats. Even harder to believe, Gwynn never once struck out against Maddux.
