California lawyers think so.

Does the flag offend you at all?

no, because history itself is offensive, and no one has the right to not be offended. We all have the right to be offended, but that doesn't mean our offense must be addressed.

I think it's in bad taste and the people of Mississippi should decide to change it. They shouldn't be forced though. Freedom and what not.

Probably but they should go back with the original one adopted in 1861 nobody can get mad at a magnolia tree well, until the thing sheds its leaves...

No, simply for the fact if it were left up to the average Mississippian the flag would be gold trimmed with a hashtag on it.

I actually had no idea what the MS state flag looked like until this thread. They should probably change it.

No but I can see where some people are not good with it, if I was to break it down on what the flag means it would be, not to forget the past while looking towards the future, it kinda strange how many confederate flags I'll see on car/truck stickers and even house flags in MO, personally I don't get it but whatever.

they have the right to leave it, that is totally on the people of the state. if they would like to change state perception then it might be a good place to start. in other words, in bad taste but states rights etc

It doesn't offend me, but we really should have got rid of it a few years ago. I just don't want the racist connotations that flag implies to a lot of people.

Yes

and add State Lottery

and legalize pot

DO those three things while keeping our low cost of living, lax gun and pollution laws and you just created the promised land my friend.

Downside: it would still be Mississippi.

It would be a brilliant political stroke and PR campaign for Mississippi to follow California direction here and then parrot everything else they do on California.

Hell Disney Land might even re-locate there...

Here's the new proposed flag. Still has your hashtag and gold plating.
