TE signee who just got to campus is leaving the team. Per Rusty, he just doesn't have the desire to play any longer. Other rumors center around a possible girlfriend issue.

Good luck to him. I hope he doesn't regret this later, but I suspect he will. Full scholarships are hard to come by.

This could also explain why Jackson Harris never mentioned him in his commitment interview with 24/7 last week. He may have already known something on this situation and that UGA will need the help in this signing class.

Any girlfriend of an incoming UGA freshman football player better meet 2 criteria:
1) OT 10. Which the above is not.
2) 100% wife material. If you're bringing a girl to college you better marry her at some point. It's not worth it otherwise.

If true, w-o-w. I can't express how unbelievably pathetic that is on so many levels, especially considering the kid was offered to fill the final spot of the class and was a fringe guy from jump street.
If not true, and there is some sort of legitimate family issue, then more power to him.

It's a shame he couldn't come to this realization before signing day, when we could have offered the spot to someone else or at least not wasted a signee slot.

Exactly. It's situations like this that dictate a school must sign the full allotted 25 EVERY year.

We signed 21 in 2014, so we can sign 29 or 30 depending on whether Jacob Park could backcount to the 2013 class.
