Shitty offer list but he's from Knoxville and has been begging for an offer from Tennessee. Finally went to camp this week and ran a 4.50 to 4.52 40 three straight times in front of Butch and was offered on the spot. Also recorded a 4.03 shuttle. VQ is reporting he is being recruited as a slot WR.

Not sure what to think of this with our limited numbers and the amount of elite players we are in on.

I have to think we will start trimming this class down some soon. No room for a guy like Jaylond Woods imo.

Boom. Love seeing the Knoxville boys get their shot.

Kid bleeds orange and has legit 4.5 speed, I think he'll be a good fit at slot

You're right though, numbers are getting tight.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bruce is Woods' replacement imo. I've also thought for a while that offering a scholarship to Lovingood the longsnapper was absurd.

From what I've heard our current long snapper (Giampapa) is pretty bad. Giampapa is on scholarship and was last year as a backup as well. I guess they are fine with having 2 of them on scholly at all times. I assume Lovingood will redshirt next year and then they will sign another one in 2018 or 2019.

Interesting. Numbers will be tight. Kid supposedly has a great attitude though; plus UT offered him after seeing him in person. Gotta like that.

I admit I'm prejudice based on star ratings. 0% chance he turns into Randall Cobb.

That's understandable, I guess.

Yeah it's a pretty good story and I'm happy for the kid. He showed up like 4 months ago trying to gain an offer from UT. Kept running the 40 and couldn't get below 4.7. Butch told him something along the lines of "Keep working and come see me again." Bruce shows up this week for the first time since then and has shaved two tenths of a second off his previous 40 and did it 3 times in a row in front of CBJ. Then, being a lifelong Tennessee fan and working his arse off for that offer, the kid busts out crying as soon as Butch offers a full ride. Kinda hit me in the feels reading that.

Bruce, who grew up following Tennessee, admitted it “means the world to me” to have the chance to play for his hometown team.

“I can’t wait to be playing in front of those 100,000 fans,” he said. “After my eighth-grade year, I knew I had a little bit of talent, and I said, ‘I’m going to keep working until UT offers me.’ And three years later, boom.

“I like the offense they run. I love the coaches. I love every single one of them. And I’m just a diehard Vols fan.”
