Quandeski Whitlow

Offers from MSU, Miami, UK (brother is Jalen Whitlow), Nebraska, Va Tech, and Lousiville.

CB says Auburn, but no offer from them.

He just camped w/ us and got an offer. Anyone else got a reason to feel confident?

We aren't expecting him to commit to us. The CBs to Auburn are pretty old. Looks like he's heading to SC. Congrats

Never heard of the guy...so I am guessing we are not getting him. Congrats.

Jalen is his cousin. Anyway, I accidentally made a duplicate thread at the same time you made this one.

It looks like he's all Gamecock to me. He visited UK June 9, but was at SCAR all weekend and just got the offer.

Glad to have him. We develop 3 star players into solid contributors probably as good, if not better, than anyone in the country right now.

Our coaches see something worthy in him - glad to have him.

Hard to tell. But we're so loaded at the position he'll have time to develop before being called upon.

This kid has linebacker written all over him IMHO. I'd almost be willing to bet that's where he ends-up when he arrives. Botkin recruiting him, plus given Ward's new system in the works, makes this guy a natural at linebacker from what I can tell.

How often does USC get kids out of Alabama?

They signed a LB out of mobile last year... not really a major recruit, but will be a solid player.

Most people may not remember this, but USCe was the front runner for Chris Davis back in the day, before auburn offered... Their staff does a very good job of scouting talent.

It seems that way. They get a lot of guys we recruit every year. Getting on them early is key imo.

We get'em out ta there once in awhile. Captain Munnerlynn maybe? Smelly. We've signed a couple more the past couple of years. There was an OLman a couple of years ago. A couple of brothers, twins I think, both of them played DE I think. Hell, we get our share out of Alabama.

he's a very very very underrated player. His best football is ahead of him too.

He'll be a guy Auburn wished we offered.

I think this is a good get for USC. I know Mark Stoops had him high on the recruiting board.

He may play LB at USC, but he was a OLB/DE at UK all the way.

All eggs currently in the Darius Fullwood basket for UK, I guess.

I know less about the situation now than I did before......and before I knew nothing.

Congrats on the catch. Best of luck to him.

We've got a couple committed from AL in this current class, I had to look it up some of the others from the past.

We've got this kid who ever body loves named Jonathan Walton LB, SO, 6-0/237, Daphne, AL (Bayside Academy), on the roster right now. I liked him a lot as a RB out of HS, but they've recruited him as a LB and he's supposedly tearing-it-up killing people so LB is where he shall stay evidently. He was a good RB in HS, big and physical.

The twins, the wild and crazy DEs who we loved, but man were they crazy, were Dustin and Jordan Lindsey out of Mobile, AL (Davidson, HS). I think Spurrier ran them off after one of their many fights down in Five Points and I think Jordan got slashed in the neck in that one if I remember correctly.

For the life of me I cannot remember the name of the offensive lineman we had out of AL. It was early in Spurrier's tenure, maybe a Holtz holdover.

Captain Munnerlyn is still in the NFL, he was out of Mobile, AL, (Murphy). He was one of Spurrier's.

Heath Batchelor was the offensive lineman, it just came to me. He was out of Haleyville, AL and he was one of Spurrier's. He contributed, big kid. I wanna say he had an injury headed into his senior season and was one of those casualties that left the team early after he had earned a starting spot heading into Lattimore's freshman season.

Darian Stewart, DB/SS out of Huntsville, Alabama (Lee) is still having a good NFL career I think in his third or fourth year maybe? He's about to make big money with the Ravens who bought him from The Rams.

Batchelor quit the team in mid-season 2009, after startign a few times. He had issues with homesickness throughout his entire time at USC, and had a girlfriend back home that he missed heavily. Batchelor left the team in 2008 due to homesickness but was persuaded by his parents and family to re-enroll in the off-season prior to 2009. He never suffered an injury, but just left the program, went back home, and never played college FB again....

Truth be told I think this has been key to us beating down Clemson for 5 years in a row. Their recruiting, and Dabo's style, seem to be all about style, flash and high ratings. Don't get me wrong, the skill position players are obviously important, but Clemson has a real issue in developing it's non-headline grabbing players relative to us.

I didn't know he was from Alabama. He is a heck of a football player. Spurrier will never have a problem getting talent.

Credit to Steve Spurrier Jr. When he took over as RC and implemented his "offer by committee" system everything changed for us in the recruiting wars. He sent coaches to their natural recruiting areas, got our budget upped by 200k to put us over a million a year, and he went full bore on asking for film early, during their sophomore years even ... and it's said he sees talent on film when they are supposed to be looking at other, better known, players.

He:s really capitalized on our current success but a lot of it is attributable to him IMHO. I've gone by there many nights to check the Cockaboose and seen the light on in his office and been told he is always watching film at the office late night and at home. He lives it and breaths it.
