20c here or two dimes put a quarter in and get a nickle back after opening a vertical glass door on the machine and pulling the bottle out.
If you took the bottle they had a sign asking for a 5c deposit.
No fooling.

I remember when gas prices were getting near the dollar a gallon mark and people were pissed and saying they were gonna go broke I think that I used to pay .35 for cokes out of a machine.

I saw a coke machine in Vegas last weekend.
$3.00 for a 20 oz. bottle.
Sweet deal.

5 cents for an 8-oz bottle. That was only in our church building, though, and I think they must have subsidized this. Most everywhere else they were 10 cents.

There used to be a machine here in Gardendale that sold cans for 30c but it's gone up.

10 cents is as cheap as I can recall. We used to get them out of these kinds of machines:

5 cents for an 8oz bottle.
My grandfather was a veterinarian that owned his own business. He had an awesome super old coke machine that looked like a washing machine. You would open a little flap on the top that had a handle on it to get the coke out.
He kept it at 5 cents for his employees and customers and was even able to keep buying the 8oz bottles from coke after they switched to 12oz cans.
I really wanted that machine when he passed away, but it went to the other side of the family. Thing has to be worth thousands. It was super old and only took nickels and 1 made it open.

25 cents for a bottle in the late 90s. Out of an old Coke machine in the country when I was staying with some family members outside of Bowling Green on their tobacco farm one summer.

Vaguely remember .30 gas and .15 hamburgers as a kid. Vividly remember .50 Copenhagen as a teen.

Granted, I'm only 32 but I can remember 99 cent gas being high as a teen. It's pretty insane how much the cost of gas has grown in less than two decades.

Fitty-cent. I also remember being able to purchase a cajun mcchicken meal and can of copenhagen using one five dollar bill. Times were good.

10 cents, and any candy bar was 5 cents. A loaf of bread was also 5 cents.
