Antoine Wilder

Same school as Arden Key.

quote:

Wilder was graded as a value three-star with an 89 grade. We absolutely love the way he closes on the ball and his physicality in the run game. If he shows us down the road that he's got good ball skills, he's a likely four-star. Academic question marks kept him under the radar but with those questions beginning to be answered, he's a definite riser.

Only one other offer of note, from Mississippi State.

Just recently got his academic situation taken care of, apparently.

Yep, from what I've read, Hapeville Charter is a brand new high school, and a number of transfers to the school have needed to get their academic transcripts put into order or translated. So it's not so much a case of poor grades, it's a case of some courses/grades not exactly being in the same language they need to be for the new school administration.

Sounds like Wilder's gotten his issues straightened out, and should be seeing some offer activity pretty soon. Hope we can hang onto him: Key really recruited him hard for USC....

Saw a quote saying his mom really likes UGA but that wasn't too recent, I don't think. And it was before Key started working on him.

I know nothing about him, but he has great height/etc and looks like a really good tackler and solid hitter. I didn't see him intercept any passes, but I only watched a couple of minutes of his video so far.

Good looking get.

247Sports has him now as a 89-grade 3*. A 90-grade gets him a 4th star....

Yep. I watched some film on him earlier. Will be a monster in run support.

4* rating on 247 composite... Looks like a up & comer who's camped well. There's a shitload of these '15 kids in Ga. who are just starting to make noise, gonna be an interesting summer....

Looks like a good get...

This has nothing to do with being a new school. Anytime a kid transfers to another school this happens and it doesn't take weeks or months to do. It really screws over kids who were on tradition schedules who transfer to schools that are on block schedules. They can basically lose a whole year of credits if they transfer in to late in the Spring.

Gamecocks, I'm hearing yall are getting close to offering Kenny Thomas, OT 6'7 330, from Prattville, AL. He seems to fit the mold of OLs Spurrier has been going with lately.

How many OTs are yall looking to take this year?
