It'll be tough, but it's possible. You have to figure Germany will secure a spot, leaving one spot between us, Portugal, and Ghana. Both of those are winnable. It's a really tough draw though, obviously

Monday against Ghana is an absolute must win. A win against the Black Stars and as long as we don't get beat by either Germany or Portugal would give us a puncher's chance of getting to the knockout round.

Yeah have to beat Ghana. I think we can likely afford to lose to Germany since they'll be favored against Ghana and Portugal as well.

Ghana is a must win. Lose to Ghana and I'd say we're toast. The one thing in our favor is that Portugal and Germany have both suffered injuries to some of their top players. Without Ronaldo, Portugal looks pretty pedestrian and struggled with Mexico. The injury to Marco Reus could have implications for Germany, too.
I'll just be happy if we make it out of group play.

If we score a late goal to take the lead against either Portugal or Germany, I assure you it will be absolute pandemonium wherever you watch the game.

I think Portugal will be as tough for the US as Germany.

If you're going to the Brewhouse, get there a few hours early. It fills up quick. I've watched 3 of the last 4 WCs there - great atmosphere, but 2010 saw a significant rise on soccer poser hipsters showing up in Chelsea gear, raving about how much they love the "footie" ...
