Moving to safety according to Radi Nabulsi's twitter. Thoughts?

We needed depth and we have a potentially nice class of.corners coming in this summer...smart move if he fits the position well and doesn't seem too out of place. I trust the coaches judgment

I don't hate it. There's going to be a good bit of movement in the secondary

He's probably a few inches shorter than ideal for a safety but it sounds like we need bodies out there.

I think speed is a bigger factor with this move. Wilkerson isn't really a burner, so safety could be a better fit. He is faster than Mauger at least.

Height with safeties is overrated IMHO. The NFL is full of 5'10" and 5'11" safeties. Truthfully I think it matters more with corners.

Ideally our entire secondary would be 6'2", but we're not there yet.

I fully trust Pruitt so whatever he decides is fine by me. With that said I was expecting really big things from RW at corner. I know our safeties have been lackluster, but damn we don't have anyone with experience at corner besides Swann. So that's one corner job locked up, but we will have a total noob on teh other side, and JJ Green is more of a nickel if I understand correctly.

At LEAST with safety we have 2 guys that have played and played a good bit last year. Corner scares the hell out of me right now.

I guess this pretty much rolls out the red carpet for Malkom Parrish to start at the corner opposite Swann

Unless Dawson can hold him off I guess, but that's kinda doubtful at this point

I thought Wilkerson was going to be a great corner for us. I guess Pruitt knows better than I do but that kid looked good.

I'm excited about Reggie. He was doing great before the injury.

We're really going to need Parrish, Sanders, and Fenteng to play early and often.

It would help a lot if Davis is actually good enough to hold on to substantial playing time

May have more to do with his surgically repaired knee than anything else.

He's awfully small for a safety...got to be sub-180.

Interdasting move.

This Shaq Fenteng/Sheldon Dawson battle for our open CB spot will be fun to watch.

Fingers crossed. Pruitt wouldn't make the change if he didn't feel it was neccessary. I also think Parrish is going to be a hell of a safety or corner.

Don't forget this Aaron Davis kid is supposedly lighting it up big time.

I like the move.

Pruitt asks a lot from all of his DBs.
Safeties and CBs are going to be asked to lockdown man coverage more than Grantham did.

That means we need guys at Safety who can do that effectively.

Wilkerson doesn't need to play like a 200 pounder. If he can play like a physical 180 pounder, we'll be more than fine. I expect Pruitt to get those fundamentals down. And the kids who can play best close to the line of scrimmage will get the most playing time.

Average nfl free safety is 190.

Google it.

(Swann is 188 by the way)
