Is Mississippi State really a glorified Sun Belt or Conference USA program?

My question presented to you, tSECR - has any other SEC school perennially lowered themselves to the levels of Sun Belt and Conference USA play like the Grinders? It's almost unreal that an SEC school has to play at UAB, at Troy, at Southern Miss, at Middle Tennessee, etc., to remain relevant in their own region.
BTW, the picture on the frontpage of [link=(secrant.com)]secrant.com[/link] is from when they played at Troy in 2012
Check out these sweet OOC matchups the Grinders have played throughout the years and will play in the future:
2016 - at Louisiana Tech (lol),
2015 - at Southern Miss (lol)
2014 - at South Alabama (lol)
2012 - at Troy (lol)
2011 - at UAB (lol)
2010 - at Houston (lol)
2009 - at Middle Tennessee (lol)
2008 - at Louisiana Tech (lol)
2007 - at Tulane (lol)
2006 - at UAB (lol)
2003 - at Tulane (lol), at Houston (lol)
2000 - at BYU (lol)

Our program has had its share of sunbelt moments over the years.

That's pretty bad... But when you schedule a neutral site game in Reliant Stadium against a middle tier Big XII team only to get your kicked in on National TV what other choice do you have ?

Sounds as bad as a middle tier SEC team not being able to beat a true freshman 3rd string QB through three quarters.

We don't normally lose to Sun Belt teams, but hey, it happens. It's not every day a small team like y'all can put it together and beat up on a major conference opponent.
If we're going to lose to an inferior opponent, we prefer they hail from the FCS.
