Look to bauta, Ramsey or whoever we bring in through the 2015 recruiting cycle.

The way things are going, not only will Park never see the field, but he won't finish his football career at UGA. Let's just say, he needs to start doing things "The Georgia Way".

Sure hope that changes between now and the start of camp.

Thought I'd drop that little tidbit.

There we go. If that's the case then he'll never be successful at anything he does.

I don't care what he likes as long as he can play ball.

Did he sprinkle the tinkle all over the toilet seat at the Richt freshmen dinner?

The timing of your thread is what I find funniest.

I don't get this. How could this not be assessed during the recruiting process? I can half understand not diagnosing this for a linemen who is out of shape but who seems to have potential but in the highest profile position on the field?

I wouldn't sweat it just yet.

It's June in his first pre-season. He's learning what his role entails (at the same time that he's learning how much freedom he has in Athens as an 18 year old).

A lot of kids struggle their entire first year with this balance. It doesn't mean that he's going to be a bust or a future transfer. It just means that he (like most 18 year olds) has some growing up to do.

Yeah, let's pump the brakes a bit here. He's a young kid still figuring things out and he has no reason to expect any major responsibility on the field yet. Revisit this topic in a year when he will be competing with Brice and Faton for the starting gig and see how everyone feels. Right now, let's just see how he looks holding a clipboard and signaling in calls from the sideline.

In high school you can get by on raw talent. A lot of coaches want to foster a reputation that they get kids into major colleges, so other kids will want to transfer to their school, making the coach more successful. If the coaches do not tell recruiters about a kids work ethic, or hide it....

I'm not saying this is the case. Simply that it would be one explanation of how Georgia might not know about a kid with a poor work ethic.

I moved to Athens in June 1996.

I was a drunken fool for 2 months.
And I handled it better than many of those around me.

If this is the case then it would seem we are relying too much on biased HS coach assessment. For a high profile player/QB we should have our own scouts watching HS practices providing our own critical insight.

I do appreciate all the responses. Hopefully this kid gets a reality check soon. On paper he would seem to be our best prospect as a pro-set type QB. But personally I would rather see us recruit Shockley-type QB's who bring a dual-threat to the equation. You don't have to run a Malzahn like offense to benefit from a dual-threat QB.

I'm missing something here. Did Park get in trouble?

Park has been labeled a dual thread qb. He has a ton of athleticism.
