USA Today not very optimistic about Arky football.

"So prepare for another season of painful results. Two sure wins: Nicholls State and UAB. A third win probably comes from Northern Illinois … maybe, at least. The rest are losses on paper, though I do think Arkansas snatches an SEC win after a season spent solely in the loss column. Four wins is my guess, with the potential for five should Allen and the passing attack defy my expectations. I can't imagine a scenario where Arkansas gets to six wins. That has to be enough. Why? Because that's all Arkansas is built to do. Keep focus on the future – it'll get better."

The guy says this also. It just isn't happening. This defense and lack of passing game won't be able to beat A&M, MSU, Ole Miss, and Mizz. Its just asking entirely too much of the running game. I am impressed with the OL though. Less than 10 sacks(mainly because they weren't passing much) but nevertheless a great stat. The running game is going to be good. Just not sold on that defense.

The crazy thing is, they could go 0-fer in conference again and Bielema wouldnt even be on the hot seat according to their fans. Dude's got the best gig in the world it seems.

Who said this? There's a difference between being on the hot seat and fired. He will for sure have a warm seat if he goes 0-8. He won't be fired because his buyout is too high and he's going to be given three years minimum to fix things. It's really not that complicated.

Yeah our DL should be really solid and supposedly our secondary is improved, but i'll believe it when i see it. LB is still pretty meh. The season will come down to how Allen plays though

Regardless of contract, most fanbases would already be calling for a coaches head after one 0-8 year. If I had told Arkansas fans immediately after JLS was fired that their next coach (whoever it would be) would go 0-8 in his first year, you all would have also said it would have been a bad hire and he should be canned.
This, just like HUNH rule, is a case of a fanbase abandoning reason to defend a coach who has done literally nothing for them yet. Its truly fascinating.

Our D is under different direction this fall...it shouldn't be sit back and tackle when they get to you 20 yards down the field.
