COX Customers; Anyone thinking that they will pick up SEC Network?

These douchebags better get their act together soon. I would rather not switch to Dish but if it comes to it, I may have to make the jump. COX does primarily serve the southern part of the country correct? I can't imagine them not making a deal. Does anyone know a cutoff date of no return? I mean, 60 days until August.

Yeah, they're based on Atlanta, right?
I imagine they'll pull it together. They're the cable company here in Vegas, I hope they pull it together.

Didn't know they were that far out West. I'm sweating this thing out but I can't imagine them not cutting a deal. They are major sponsors of LSU. The Academic Center is named "The Cox Academic Center". They also have been LSU's main provider of programs such as Coaches shows, Football Game replays, Live Basketball, Baseball, Softball, etc. But August is just around the corner and COX customers over here are already planning to make the switch.

I've called a couple of times to request the SEC network. I told them they'll lose tons of folks in August if they don't pick it up.

They're a huge company. They've got their name on a few things out here at UNLV as well.
That being said and if I remember correctly, they held out on The Mtn (the MWC conference network) for a really long time. Not sure they ever signed on before it shut down.

The only one we have heard positive news about that doesn't have it yet is Cable One.
Oh and we learned DirecTv is being a bitch about it so its almost a guarantee they won't have it in time.

I've already left Directv becasue they didn't pickup CSN in Houston before the Rockets started.
On Comcast now....we'll see for how long.
I will say though the blame is not all on the providers, ESPN is asking a lot across all their networks.

Of course they will, they have the damn longhorn network so I can't imagine them not have the SEC network.

I don't know if you have Uverse in your neck of the woods, but that is another option. I like Uverse and have never had any problems with it. Only reason I will be leaving is because Google Fiber comes to my neighborhood this month.

Do you want custom wood floors in the weight room like Oregon has or not?

I have Uverse but I know people who have worked at Cox Communications main office in ATL and they are known for being ran in shoestring fashion by the owner, who has backed out at the last seconds on large deals before. That said, they are heavily vested in the SEC footprint and will nickel and dime the deal to the very last second at which point they will fold because it will cost them more money in lost customers not to.
Churn may be a headache for telco carriers, it's a nightmare for cable co's.

I used to live across the street from COx HQ in Dunwoody. They built a really REALLY nice second tower. Top of the line little park, work-out facilities, and cafeteria. They have to pay for it somehow.

They better. I guess we would switch to DirecTV if they don't pick it up. I don't understand why the SECN can't become part of the Cox sports package along with ESPNU, NFL Network, Tennis Channel etc.

That would be a poor decision currently as Direct TV doesn't have it either.
Your options are DISH and UVerse.
