As said, having a good time. Depending on how the work week went that could be anywhere from a quiet night with some movies and popcorn to a night out at a local pub with some good beer and friends.

i'm old and married young and had kids as soon as i graudated college i had a kid. my idea of a good night out is pretty lame.
I get laid by the old lady is just about the only qualifier. recently we went out, had italian, watched x-men, i made a joke that soured the evening as we were in bed. coitus did not occur. not a good night out even though 99% of the evening was great.
last week we went to have ice cream with the kids, got them in bed, watched 24 on DVR till she fell asleep and i got laid after. Great night out.

Any night spent with good friends. It's awesome when it all comes together- Good dinner+good pregame+Good night at the bars. It's always awesome when I'm out and run into someone that I haven't seen in awhile that I was friends with in HS or JR High. Some of my favorite nights are when there's a relatively small group, like 8-12 of us, pregaming to go out and we just say frick it and keep drinking at whoevers house.
